Fight 1 - 77kg Bout

Dennis Siver (GER - OC Fight Team) vs. Paul "Hands of Stone" Jenkins (Walles - Hic Sunt Leones)

Siver dominated the entire fight, executing two picture perfect shoulder throws and finishing Jenkins in the

second round via heel hook. Jenkins sprayed the audience with water in between rounds and was fighting

quite sloppy, as if drunk.

Fight 2 - 85kg Bout

Igor Araújo (BRA - Caverinha/Gracie) vs. Jean Francois Lenogue (FRA - Swiss Top Fighters)

Lenogue controlled Araujo throughout the entire fight. Lenogue did some flying stomps and kicked a lot in

Inoki Ali position. Araujo had a chicken wing attempt and rear naked choke attempt but Lenogue kept

on dominating and won a judges decision.

Fight 3 - Heavyweight Bout

Rafael Feijão (BRA - Minotauro Team) vs. Miodrag Petkovic (SERBIA - Despot Stefan)

Feijao showed more speed and snap in the fight and tagged Petkovic with straight lefts and rights right at

the beginning. Petković answered some but was way too slow for the Minotauro student. Petković starts to

bleed from good combinations. In round two, Feijao lands a combo of hooks and a front kick followed by

more punches and a killer knee that cuts Petkovic and sends him to the canvas in a knockdown and the

ref stops the fight.

Fight 4 - 95kg Bout
Moise Rimbon (FRA - Swiss Top Fighters) vs. Michal Materla (POL - Berserkers Team)

Rimbon dominated the entire fight but was unable to capitalize on dominant positions. He had a heel hook

attempt, rear mount but didn’t finish or do much damage with either. Rimbon wins a judges decision.

 Fight 5 - 84kg Bout

Carlos Baruck (BRA - Belfort Team) vs. Damir Mirenic (CRO - Cro Cop Team)

One of the fast rising Croatian fighters Damir Mirenic faced a tough opponent in Carlos Baruck who seemed

stronger and heavier. From the start, Baruck takes Mirenic down but Damir lands an up-kick and soon rises

to his feet. He lands a shot to Baruck's head and a shaken Baruck manages to bring it down again. Mirenic

showing great guard defense, keeps Baruck from passing guard, and then from the sitting position grabs a

single leg and drives to a reversal and soon rises to his feet. Baruck gets hit with a flurry of shots to the head

and body and after a good beating, finally succumbs to well placed uppercuts and falls to the canvas and the

ref steps in. Mirenic wins. This was the most exciting fight of the night.

Fight 6 - 86kg Bout

Dave Philips (USA - Hic Sunt Leones ) vs. Grezgorz Jakubowski (POL - Berserkers Team)

Dave Philips was taken down repeatedly by Jakubowski. Philips showed zero sprawl and zero takedown

defense whatsoever and Jakubowski took him down many times at will, but was unable to finish an arm

triangle choke from a side mount due to sheer lack of technique. Both fighters fought sloppily. Jakubowski

won the judges decision.

Fight 7 - Heavyweight Bout

Edson Drago (BRA - Minotauro Team) vs. Valdas Pocevicius (LIT - The Knight of Plunge)

Drago came out impressively from the start, showing some good sprawl, but got mounted and took some

shots to the head. He manages to free himself and shakes a guillotine off by a semi-slam. He switches to

ground-n-pound and continues on his feet where he again demonstrates good sprawl and defense. In round

two, he gets to the North South position where he finishes Pocevicius with good knees to the head. Drago

was impressive, even though one has to wonder why his back was all full of sores. Probably because of all

the «vitamins» and «minerals».

Fight 8 - 94kg Bout

Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos (BRA - Chute Boxe) vs. Francis Camont (FRA - Swiss Top Fighters)

Cyborg did not perform as expected. After seeing him in a war with Manhoef in Cage Rage, this was quite

a let down since it went to a three round judges decison. Cyborg dominated the entire fight with punches on

the feet and some ground-n-pound on the ground but both fighters defended well against the other and there

was no stoppage or an ippon (submission) in sight so they rode the clock to a decision and a dominating but

tired Cyborg won.

Antonio and Rogerio Nogueira were in the audience, along with Pele Landi Jons. They were very

respectful to the fans and showed great attitude towards everyone and took numerous pictures with fans and

gave some interviews. Mirko Cro Cop did not show up at the event, even though one would expect him to

support the sport with his presence, being that it was only a three hour drive to Kopar from Zagreb. We can

only assume he had reasons of his own not to show up. This was probably the best event in this part of

Europe with the best and more important, well balanced fight card. The next event is scheduled for

September 2006, where Pele promised to fight, being that his opponent from Russia could not make it to this

event. If the next fight card parallels this one by quality fighters and good match making, then World

Freefight Challenge 2 should be an event to look forward to in the future, and a definite must see if you are

in the neighborhood.
