March 1, 2008 - WBA Minimum champion Yutaka Niida (23-1-3, 9 KOs), 105, impressively kept his belt as

he dropped Venezuelan challenger Jose Luis Varela (15-4-1NC, 7 KOs), 104.75, with a looping left hook in

the third, took the initiative and finally decked him in agony with vicious body bombardments for the count at

2:16 of the sixth round on Saturday in Tokyo, Japan.

Niida, 29, made his seventh defense to his credit by showing the best performance in his career.

March 1, 2008 - WBA female Flyweight champion Susianna Kentikian retained her title for the fifth time by

scoring a TKO win in the third round over Sarah Goodson on Friday night in Hamburg, Germany.

Kentikian’s power was too much to be handled by her opponent, who put her best effort. The “Killer Queen”

landed some vicious body shots that eventually hurt Goodson prompting referee Mikkel Hook to halt the

actions in the third round.
