Ultimate Fighting Championship’s Six-Hour Show Features Best Bouts, Top Fighters

 

 


LAS VEGAS – A decade of dominating New Year’s Eve continues Dec. 31 when the Ultimate Fighting

Championship celebrates its 10th consecutive year of bringing viewers the ultimate pay-per-view event on the

ultimate night of the year: Ultimate New Year’s Eve ’04.

 

This annual six-hour taped show features the very best action of the world’s top mixed martial artists in 40

complete fights at UFC events from 2002 through 2004 on pay-per-view starting at 10 p.m. EST, on Friday,

Dec. 31. Look for bone-jarring action selected from UFC 40: Vendetta through UFC 49: Unfinished Business.

 

Ultimate New Year’s Eve ’04 will be available on iNDemand, DirecTV, Dish Network, Bell ExpressVu,

Echostar, TVN and Viewer’s Choice Canada for the suggested retail price of $29.95. An encore performance

will begin immediately after the telecast.

 

UFC 40: Vendetta includes the classic Light Heavyweight Title bout between Ken Shamrock and Tito

Ortiz, while highlights of UFC 41: Onslaught features the heavyweight championship match-up between Tim

Sylvia and Ricco Rodriguez.

 

UFC 42: Sudden Impact shows the clash between light heavyweights Evan Tanner and Rich Franklin;

UFC 43: Meltdown takes you inside the Octagon for the UFC Interim Light Heavyweight Championship

between Randy Couture and Chuck Liddell, and the exciting fight between Vitor Belfort and Marvin

Eastman.

 

UFC 44: Undisputed showcases the championship bout between Tim Sylvia and Gan McGee and other

heavyweights Andrei Arlovski and Vladimir Matyushenko, while UFC 45: Revolution revolves around the

Matt Hughes-Frank Trigg welterweight championship match-up.

 

The fighters give it their all in UFC 46: Super Natural when heavyweight Frank Mir fights Wes Sims, and in

UFC47: It’s On! when Liddell and Tito Ortiz fight in the main event and Robbie Lawler and Nick Diaz

square off in a welterweight bout. UFC 48: Payback! highlights UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock against

Kimo Leopoldo and, finally, the evening’s excitement ends with UFC 49: Unfinished Business and

highlights from Liddell vs. Vernon White, and Yves Edwards against Josh Thomson.

 

Top UFC legends like Tank Abbott and Cabbage Correira, and stars like Dave Terrell, Georges St.

Pierre, Karo Parisyan, Carlos Newton, Tiki Ghosn, Matt Lindland and Phil Baroni also are featured.

Top mixed martial artists such as Justin Eilers, Pete Spratt, Mike Kyle and Chris Lytle all make their way

once again into the Octagon in these vivid highlights.

 

The Ultimate Fighter™ airs on Spike TV in January

On TV this Jan. 17 watch for the premiere of UFC’s reality show The Ultimate Fighter on Spike TV. The 15-

episode series, which airs Monday nights at 11 p.m., is hosted by top recording artist Willa Ford. The show

will follow 16 athletes as they train, workout and live together. The final four fighters will meet in

championship matches in a middleweight division and a light-heavyweight division to determine who will win

UFC contracts.

 

UFC 51: Super Saturday

Following Ultimate New Year’s Eve ’04 , the UFC’s next pay-per-view telecast will be UFC 51: Super

Saturday LIVE at 10 p.m. EST, Feb. 5, 2005 from the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nv.
