Team Quest Kids Camp

Summer 2008

 

This summer Team Quest will be holding a series of kids camps for children aged 6-12. These camps are

structured with the fundamentals of mixed martial arts, teaching kids how to focus, stay positive, learn

discipline and have fun while burning off all that extra energy! It covers striking, grappling, and submission

techniques much like the adult MMA program. Register today, space is limited.

 

The camps will run from 9am-11am, Monday-Wednesday-Friday. Sessions are held during the last 2 weeks

of each summer months ( June, July, August).

 

- For ages 6-12

- Free for current kids world members

- $30/day drop in fee for non-members

- Members will be eligible to receive a Buddy Pass, which allows them to bring a friend

Team Quest Hosts Grappling World Team Trials

 

 

Beginning in May, USA Wrestling will begin to host a series of 12 qualifiers to determine the field for the

2008 USA Wrestling Grappling World Team Trials.

 

These USA Wrestling sanctioned qualifiers will identify the best Grapplers in the United States, and give

them an opportunity to try out for the 2008 U.S. Grappling World Team, which will compete at the Grappling

World Championships in Lucerne, Switzerland on December 20-21.

 

The USA Wrestling Grappling World Team Trials Qualifying Series will run from May through August, and

will be placed in strategic locations around the country. The series has been designed to increase the

participation level from last year, and encourage the nation's best athletes to try out for the U.S. Team.

 

In order to qualify for the 2008 U.S. Grappling World Team Trials, which is for Senior-level athletes, men must

place in the top four in their weight class and women must place in the top three of their weight class.

Returning 2007 U.S. World Team Trials champions automatically qualify for the 2008 U.S. World Team

Trials.

Kids (Born 1994-1997)

High School (Born 1988 and after, plus must be enrolled in Grades 9-12)

Skill Divisions:

All Age Groups will offer Advanced and Novice Skill Divisions.

- Novice Skill Division is for grapplers with one year or less Grappling experience.

Senior Men’s (Advanced):

136.5 lbs, 154 lbs, 176 lbs, 202.5 lbs, 275 lbs

 

Senior Women’s (Advanced):

105.5 lbs, 121 lbs, 138.5 lbs, 158.5 lbs

 

Senior Men’s and Women’s (Novice Divisions):

Weight Classes determined after weigh-ins. (Madison System)

 

High School Men’s and Women’s (Advanced and Novice Divisions):

Weight Classes determined after weigh-ins. (Madison System)

 

Kids Boys and Girls (Advanced and Novice Divisions):

World Team Trials Qualifier Information:

- All participants must have a USA Wrestling membership. You can purchase one at:

- Returning World Team Trials Champions automatically qualify for the 2008 Grappling World Team Trials.

 

- The Top 4 Senior Men’s (Advanced) Place winners and Top 3 Senior Women’s (Advanced) Place winners

  qualify for the 2008 Grappling World Team Trials.

 

- There will no weight allowance; all competitors must make scratch weight.

 

- You must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for the World Team Trials. 

 

- You may compete in as many qualifiers as you choose.

 

- At the World Team Trials you may compete in a different weight class other than the one in which you

  qualified.

 

- You must wear either a long-sleeve, short-sleeve or sleeveless tight fitting lycra rashguard competition top

  with no holes or abrasive parts. You may wear either tight fitting lycra competition shorts or loose fit board

  shorts. The board shorts may not extend below the top of the knee or be excessively baggy. Buttons,

  zippers, external strings, exposed Velcro or other abrasive parts are prohibited.

 

- All athletes must weigh-in in their competition tops and shorts.

 

- All athletes must wear the appropriate undergarments while competing.

HDNet Fights to deliver yet another adrenaline-pumping night of mixed martial arts action at the Rose

Garden on Friday, June 20th at 7pm. SportFight XXIII: Heated Rivals will offer up a stacked fight card

featuring some of the most skilled and exciting athletes from both the Northwest and beyond, and will be
