During the event, it was announced that on March 29th (2008) at StrikeForce, lightweight champion Gilbert

Melendez will face Josh "The Punk" Thomson. Also, while doing a post-fight interview with Cung Le,

Frank Shamrock accepted Le's challenge to fight (no date mentioned).

Jorge Santiago wins by knockout (Flying knee\shin) at :24 of the first round over Sean Salmon

 

Fight 2 - Middleweight Tournament Bout

Trevor Prangley vs. Falaniko Vitale ended in a majority draw

With about 2:40 left in the second round, Vitale was accidentally scratched in the right eye and the bout was

stopped so the doctor could check the eye - after checking the eye, the doctor stopped the fight. As per

tournament rules, the half round was scored and the bout ended in a majority draw. The decision then went

to the ref who chose Trevor Prangley as the winner.
