What: Olympic silver medalist and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) star, Matt “The Law” Lindland and five-time UFC Champion Randy “The Natural” Couture are partnering with RMN Events to bring the National Western Complex’s first Rocky Mountain Sportfight competition Saturday, October 15 at 7:30 p.m. Like all Sportfight productions, this event will showcase world-class fighters from across the country, including many of the best from Colorado, for a legendary night of one-on-one combat.
In the main event, Team Quest’s Matt Horwich, fresh off his Sportfight XII win against Vernon “Tiger” White, makes his move down to 185 where he’ll face Denver’s own John Crunk. Horwich has been a terror in the light-heavyweight division and is determined to tear up the middleweight ranks with his super submission skills.
Fresh off Spike TV’s reality show “The Ultimate Fighter,” Alex Schoenauer steps into the Sportfight ring to take on Andre Walker at the 205-pound weight class. Schoenauer survived the elimination-style program before facing a tough defeat during the ninth episode. Now he’s determined to show the fans that he’s the real-deal by battling a very tough Muay Thai fighter from Denver.
Noah “The Red” Thomas makes his way back into the Sportfight ring - this time in his hometown where he’ll go toe-to-toe with Vern Baca.
“Not only do I want to put on a great show for the fans,” Thomas said, “but I’m determined to win in Sportfight.”
“I love the way this kid fights with all his heart,” Promoter Matt Lindland said about Thomas. “He’s really
stepped up his training since
turning pro.” Line-up (not in fight order): Fight 1 - Main Event (185 lb Bout) Matt Horwich (11-4-1) Team Quest Portland, OR. vs. John Cronk (11-8) Denver, CO.
