WHAT: Bring in August with a BANG! Sportfight XVII Hot Zone will bring hard hits and fast-paced fights on

Saturday, August 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the Rose Garden. Once again, Portland's own Olympic silver medalist

and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) star, Matt "The Law" Lindland and his partner, five-time UFC

Champion Randy "The Natural" Couture, bring the Northwest another great night of unparalleled mixed

martial arts fights.

Headlining the 17th action-packed installment of Sportfight is welterweight champion Chris "The Professor"

Wilson as he looks to knock challenger and five-time UFC veteran Lavern Clark back into the first grade.

Who will leave with the belt?

Then it's survival of the fittest as 170-pound soldier Tony Sanza, stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington, and

compatriot Lloyd Woodard of Great Falls, Montana, pit their 3-1-0 records in the ultimate form of hand-to-

hand combat.

At the 155 category, hometown boy Ian "The Barn Owl" Loveland looks to notch another devastating

victory as he and Vancouver's Trevor Burnell prepare to face off.

Next, Ryan "The Lion" Schultz roars back to the Sportfight ring to square off against former lightweight

champion Cam "Mr. Smooth" Ward in a match to determine who will challenge reigning belt-holder John

"Quick Guns" Gunderson.

Finally, get ready to tip the scales of pain as heavyweights Delon "The One" Williams and Terry "The

African Assassin" Sokoudjou look to capture the knockout of the night!
