Corrales vs. Castillo II

October 8, 2005
Thomas and Mack Center
Las Vegas, Nevada
6pm PT \ 9pm ET
During Friday night's telecast
of Solo Boxeo on Telefutura, Promoter Bob Arum appeared as a
special guest
on the show - the hosts asked
him about the weigh-in for Castillo \ Corrales that took place earlier in
the
day. Mr. Arum stated that
Castillo came in way over-weight while Corrales made weight. Mr. Arum then
stated that Castillo went to
take weight off but when he came back for a second weigh-in, he put weight
on.
Mr. Arum then explained that
the (Nevada Athletic) commission, rather than cancel the fight, fined
Castillo
10% of his purse money, $120,
000.00 - half will go to Corrales, the other half will go to the
commission.
Mr. Arum then stated that the
fighters will be weighed in the dressing room at 3pm today (Saturday) -
each
fighter has agreed to make 147
lbs. (welterweight limit \ lightweight limit is 135 lbs) - for each pound
or half a
pound that a fighter is
over-weight, they will pay a penalty of $75,000 to the other fighter. The
fight is no
