EliteXC's premiere event was a solid first showing - very good television production (but what else would you

expect from Showtime), good commentating and a very good, competitive card - plus the first five fights were

streamed live on the web for free. If you don't have Showtime, the EliteXC would be a good reason to

subscribe (plus don't forget, you'll also get their great boxing coverage as well).

Fight 1 - Heavyweight Bout (3x5)

Tim "Big Perm" Persey wins by knockout at 1:33 of the first round over Bo Cantrell

Both fighters came out swinging - Cantrell got the better of the exchange, Persey then clinched and worked

Cantrell to the cage - there, Persey was able to land three - left, right combos (2nd combo did the damage)

and Cantrell folded to the ground against the cage.

Fight 2 - Welterweight Bout (3x5)

Mike Pyle wins by submission (rear naked choke) at 1:55 of the first round over Ross Ebanez

Both meet at the center of the cage - start to feel each other out - Pyle threw some low kicks - both feint,

trying to find an opening - Ebanez threw a low kick which Pyle was able to grab and take him down - Pyle

lands in Ebanez's guard - Pyle tries to pass guard, is able to transition to side mount for a moment only to

transition to Ebanez's back - Pyle then gets a rear naked choke - Ebanez battled to get out for a while but

the choke was in too tight and Ebanez finally tapped.

Fight 3 - Lightweight Bout (3x5)

Javier “Showtime” Vazquez wins a split decision over Adriano Nasal - Judges scored the bout 29-28

Vazquez, 29-27 Nasal, 29-28 Vazquez.

Fight 4 - Lightweight Bout (3x5)

Edson Berto wins by TKO (strikes) at 2:20 of the second round over John Shackelford

Fight 5 - Middleweight Bout (3x5)

Riki Fukuda wins by submission (strikes) at 1:18 of the first round over Chris Gates

Fukuda land two lefts while on top position, does a little ground and pound and Gates tap.

Fight 6 - Lightweight Bout (3x5)

Charles "Krazy Horse" Bennett wins by first round TKO over KJ Noons

Bennett left Noons hanging with the touching of gloves before the start of the fight - Both men come out,

circle, Noons throws a round house to the body - Bennett is south paw - Bennett changes stance - Bennett

misses a big right - Bennett misses with a right to the mid-section - Noons throws a kick while Bennett

counters with a right - Bennett Thai kicks to the leg of Noons - Noons Thai kicks Bennett's leg - Bennett

counters with his own Thai kick - Noons throws a kick that lands on the butt of Bennett - Noons comes in

with a round house to the mid-section - Bennett comes in with punches that are blocked - Noons throws

a low kick - both circling - Noons lands a straight right - no damage - Bennett south paw - comes in with

some punches and they clinch - Bennett lands a left to the stomach and both throw a right - Bennett fell to a

knee while Noons got hit in the jaw and went down - Bennett goes over to punch him again, Noons turns with

his palms on the canvas - Bennett lands a punch - As Bennett starts to punch down again, the ref stops the

bout - Bennett does his trademark back flips off the cage (twice).

Fight 7 - Women Bout (3x3)

Gina Carano wins a unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27) over Julie Kedzie

Both come out - touch gloves - both exchange punches and kicks - no damage - Carano throws a low Thai

kick that is blocked by Kedzie - Carano misses a high kick - they clinch - Kedzie pulls away and lands a

right  - Carano lands her own right and they clinch again - Kedzie throws Carano down - Carano stands back

up - Kedzie trying to take Carano down - Carano sprawls - Kedzie has full guard - Kedzie going for a knee

bar - Carano punching down - Carano gets back up - Carano comes in with a left and a low Thai kick that

land - Carano lands a combo - Carano moving forward, lands a left - both exchange - Carano lands a low Thai

kick - Carano lands a right as the round ends.

Round 2

They touch gloves, Carano pushing forward - Carano lands a low Thai kick and a left jab - Kedzie rubbing her

eye like she got poked - both exchange punches - Carano lands a short elbow - they clinch - Kedzie takes

Carano down - Carano on top - Kedzie goes for an arm bar - Carano scrambles - they stand up - Carano

comes in with a kick and Kedzie lands a short punch - they exchange again with Carano getting the better of

it - Kedzie gets a single leg and they go down - they scramble and they get up - Carano landing punches -

Carano lands an overhand right sending Kedzie down - Carano over Kedzie and pulls away - ref stands them

up - Kedzie clinches and takes Carano down as the round ends - Kedzie has a mouse under his right eye.

Round 3

They touch gloves - Carano stalking Kedzie - Kedzie throws a few Thai kicks and misses - Carano throws a

kick and Kedzie catches it and takes Carano down - Kedzie in side mount - Carano gets half guard - Kedzie

gets behind her - Kedzie goes for a rear naked choke but is on the side - Carano stands up - Carano moving

forward - they clinch - they pull away - Carano pushing forward - Kedzie misses with a straight Thai kick -

Carano still pushing forward - Kedzie lands a left right, no damage - Gina lands a straight left - Kedzie

counters with a couple of punches - Kedzie lands a low Thai kick - Kedzie lands a kick to the face - Kedzie

goes for a take down - they scramble - Kedzie lands a right and comes back with some punches as Carano

counters as the round ends.

Fight 8 - Middleweight Bout (3x5)

Joey Villasenor wins a unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) over David Loiseau

They touch gloves - Loiseau moves forward - Villasenor moving side to side - Loiseau misses with a kick and

punch - Villasenor clinches and takes Loiseau down - Villasenor in side mount - Villasenor in full mount,

goes back to side mount - Villasenor lands a short knee to the mid-section - Villasenor lands a short elbow -

Loiseau scrambles, gets on all fours and stands up - they are in the clinch - Villasenor takes Loiseau down

hard - Villasenor in full mount - Loiseau scrambles - Loiseau on all fours - Villasenor lands a knee -

Villasenor on the side with Loiseau on all fours holding Villasenor's arms - Villasenor traps Loiseau's hand,

looking for a crucifix - Loiseau gets away and they stand - Villasenor takes Loiseau down again with knee on

belly with side mount - Villasenor lands a short elbow to the face - Villasenor lands a couple of elbows to the

mid-section - Villasenor lands a knee to the ribs - Villasenor gets full mount - Villasenor lands a knee from

the mount on the side of Loiseau - Loiseau scrambles, on all fours, Villasenor on the side - Loiseau stands -

Loiseau takes Villasenor down - Villasenor has full guard - Villasenor goes for an arm bar - Loiseau spins

and escapes - Both standing - Villasenor comes in and lands a left that's blocked and a knee to the side as

the round ends.

Round 2

They come to the center, Loiseau comes in with a couple of punches - Villasenor ties him up - Villasenor

throws a couple of knees - Loiseau tries to take Villasenor down - Villasenor on top in half guard - Villasenor

lands a short left elbow - Villasenor lands another elbow - Villasenor lands a few shoulder blows to the face

of Loiseau - Loiseau tries tries to stand up - Loiseau has butterfly guard - Ref stands them up - Loiseau

comes in with a left high Thai kick and Villasenor counters with a straight right - Loiseau looks tired -

Villasenor misses with an overhand right and lands a knee to the mid-section - Loiseau pushes forward -

Round 3

They touch gloves - Loiseau misses with a high kick, misses with a spinning back kick - Villasenor throws a

left high kick - Loiseau counters with a left punch - Villasenor pushes forward - Loiseau throws a few left

hooks that are blocked - both exchange jabs - Loiseau throws a few more punches that are blocked -

Villasenor lands a good body punch - Villasenor throws a few jabs and another body punch - they clinch -

Villasenor pushes Loiseau against the cage - they clinch - Villasenor lands a couple of knees - they are still

in the clinch - the ref separates them - Villasenor lands an overhand right that send Loiseau down -

Loiseau goes on all fours - Villasenor on the side lands a few punches - they stand - Villasenor lands a few

jabs - Loiseau does a jumping double kick to the head - Villasenor comes in with a right hook to the body -

Fight 9 - Heavyweight Bout (3x5)

Antonio Silva wins by TKO (strikes) at 3:29 of the first round over Welsey “Cabbage” Correira

They touch gloves - both exchange jabs - both in the center of the cage - Cabbage throwing jabs - Silva

throws a low Thai kick - both throw punches - Cabbage comes in, Silva moves to the side - Silva gets a Thai

kick - Silva shoots and gets a double leg and gets the take down - Cabbage in half guard - Cabbage trying to

scramble - Silva holding him down - Silva lands some rights - Cabbage tries to scramble, on all fours (north

south position) - Silva looks like he's going for a submission - Silva pulls away and lands a left and right -

Cabbage moving forward, comes in with a body punch, Silva counters - Silva shoots in but Cabbage stops

him - they clinch - Silva pushing Cabbage against the cage - Silva lands a right to the head - ref breaks them

apart - back to the center of the ring - Silva jumps, grabs the top of the head of Cabbage and lands a flying

knee - Cabbage goes down - Silva follows him with punches and the ref jumps in and stops the fight.

Fight 10 - Middleweight Bout (3x5)

Renzo Gracie wins by disqualification at 2:00 of the second round over Frank Shamrock

They touch gloves - Shamrock lands a low Thai kick - both exchange jabs - Shamrock lands another low

kick - Renzo comes in and clinches - Renzo has Shamrock against the cage - Renzo takes Shamrock down

- Renzo in half guard, now in side mount - Shamrock tries to bridge but Renzo stays on - Renzo has knee on

belly - Shamrock tries to push away, Renzo goes back to side mount - Renzo has a knee on the belly again

- whistle is blown (15 seconds ground inactivity rule) - they stand - Shamrock comes in with some jabs -

Renzo throws a jab, Shamrock counters with an overhand right - Shamrock lands a right - Shamrocks lands

a combo - Renzo comes in and takes Shamrock down with a sweep - Renzo on top with half guard - Renzo

has side mount - Renzo grinding his elbow on Shamrock's face - Renzo back in side mount - Shamrock

lands a knee from the bottom - Renzo with knee on the belly - Renzo to side and round ends.

Round 2

They touch gloves, Renzo comes in and Shamrock lands a straight jab - Renzo comes in and clinches -

Shamrock gets away - Renzo lands an uppercut - they clinch - Renzo takes Shamrock down with a single

leg - Renzo has side mount - Shamrocks lands a few knees from the bottom - Renzo goes to north\south

position on top, switches to side position - Shamrock from the bottom lands a knee to the back of the

neck\head of Renzo - the ref moves to get a better position and warns Shamrock not to hit to the back of the

neck\head as Shamrock lands another knee to the back of the head\neck area - the ref steps in and stops

the bout - Renzo is hurt - Renzo trying to stand up but he can't - Shamrock penalized a point for kneeing to

the back of the head - Renzo gets five minutes to recoup - Renzo standing, holding onto the cage - Renzo

looks dazed - they're putting a neck brace on Renzo - Shamrock disqualified for intentionally kneeing to the

back of the head - Renzo has a concussion and was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
