Frank Shamrock brings a new look to MMA - Shootbox.

There will be no ring or cage - just mats on a raised platform, hence the name, the box.

There are about 13 scheduled bouts for the event which will be part of the the NAPMA (National Association of Professional Martial Artists) World Conference.  NAPMA is world's largest professional martial arts association.

The rules are similar to other events like Pancrase.

Shootbox is striving for two shows it's first year, then six live events the second year. By the third year, they hope to produce 12 events.

They will try to set up Shootbox with leagues and target cities with strong martial arts communities.

They claim that they are trying to fill a void between combat sports and professional wrestling by providing
family oriented and family friendly professional sports entertainment programming and live events.
