Continuing with the interviews we conducted this past Saturday at the WCK World Championship Muay Thai

event in Las Vegas, Nevada, we had the honor of speaking with the IMTC/WIKBA and ISKA Women's World

Flyweight Muay Thai Champion Sachiyo Shibata. Sachiyo is a very exciting fighter to watch but also quite

humble in discussing her talent and skill. She had, what we consider, the fight of the night against IIonka

Elmont (pictured above, on the left, with Sachiyo). Shibata stalked Elmont throughout the fight - and Elmont,

who at times seemed ready to go down (by retreating to the corner and hanging her arms on the ropes),

battle back like the warrior she is and these two traded blows to the delight of the crowd who gave the

fighters a standing ovation during and in-between rounds. In the end, Shibata came out with a split-decision

victory although we had her winning a unanimous decision. A rematch is said to be in the works. With the

generous help of Mr. Yuki Horiuchi who translated for us, we talked with Sachiyo about her fight with Elmont

and what the future holds for her.
