2005 Middleweight Grand Prix

PRIDE announced eight of the sixteen fighters that will participate in their 2005 middleweight Grand Prix

tournament - First up, 2003 middleweight GP winner (and current PRIDE middleweight champion)

Wanderlei Silva will be back to defend his Grand Prix title. Next, fan favorite Kazushi Sakuraba is

expected to be back in action as well as the hard hitting "Ice Cold" Igor Vovchanchyn. Current King of

Pancrase Light Heavyweight Champion Yuki Kondo, Brazilian Top Team member Antonio Rogerio

Nogueira (not to be confused with his twin brother - former PRIDE heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo

Nogueira), PRIDE veteran Kazuhiro Nakamura, Chute Boxe team member Mauricio "Shogun" Rua, and

1992 Olympic Judo Gold Medalist and 2003 GP participant Hidehiko Yoshida round out the card so far.
