On Saturday, March 12th, 2005, at 9:00am, North America's premier submission wrestling tournament

kicks-off in Broomfield, Colorado. Submission fighters from America, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Russia, and

Japan, once again descend on the "Mile High City" to test themselves at the 4th annual Pancrase 2005

North American Submission Wrestling Championships.

Tournament Director for the event is none other than world renowned Ring of Fire promoter Sven Bean and

master of ceremonies Joey "Shades" Varner. For the Old Timer's Tourney, it's Craig Johnson and

"Brother from Another" Al Pallone.

New for this year is the Pancrase Absolute Division. It's any weight, any skill-level, and open to all styles.

The overall men's Absolute Champion takes home the new Pancrase championship belt. The lady's champ

receives a custom plaque. All other divisions will receive first through fourth place medals. All competitors

receive a special Pancrase tournament t-shirt.

Also new, is the overall team award. This new trophy will be displayed at Pancrase USA headquarters and

lists all past champions. In 2002 and 2004, Grapplers Edge took the title. In 2003, Boulder Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

took top team honors.

Checkout the upcoming issue of Grappling Magazine for a story and pictures from the last Pancrase

tournament. There will also be coverage for this years competition.

As in the past, the event is held in conjunction with the "Still Alive in 2005" Old Timers (collegiate style)

Wrestling Tourney. Wrestlers may compete in both tournaments. Both competitions take place at the

Broomfield High School, located 15 minutes from downtown Denver, Colorado and 45 minutes from the

Denver International Airport. Out-of-towners have a full range of hotels and restaurants located minutes from
