Updated Release

NEWPORT BEACH, CA, - After two consecutive sell-outs at the Irvine Marriott with SpringFist2007 in April

and SummerFist2007 in June, Roy Englebrecht Events' mixed martial arts "Fist Series" has made quite an

impression on the Southern California fight scene. But for OctoberFist2007, which will be held on

Wednesday, October 31st, Englebrecht will take his show on the road - actually across the 405 Freeway - to

the Hyatt Regency Irvine, to present Fight Night On Fright Night to as many fans as possible to experience

the world's fastest growing sport live.

"The response to our first two MMA shows and the "Fist Series" concept has been phenomenal and I'm

more excited than ever about this third show of the series," said Englebrecht. "We've come up with a great

formula of putting on competitive fights with some of the top young local talent available and offering it at the

right price in a great environment, and the fans have made their voices heard. All I can say is that MMA is

here to stay and we'll continue bringing it to some of the best fight fans in the country."

Tickets for this "Fight Night on Fright Night", priced at $50, $40, and $30, went on sale Tuesday, October

2nd and may be purchased online at www.battleintheballroom.com. For sponsorship and group ticket

information, contact Roy Englebrecht Events at 949-760-3131.

In the five round main event, Canada and Krav Maga's Shane Rice (2-3), a King of The Cage and TKO

veteran who holds a win over highly regarded Mark Hominick, will put his Jiu-Jitsu skills to the test against

LA Boxing's own Rich Screeton (6-11, 1 NC).

Also in action will be Screeton's LA Boxing teammate, unbeaten light heavyweight Armando Contreras

(1-0), who plans on following up his impressive first win over Brian Smith in August with a similar

performance against City Boxing's Reed Shelger, who will be making his pro debut.

In an exciting matchup 5-4 AlexSurdyukov faces 1-4 Mark Kempthorne; and MMA debutant, Keith

Perrigon, who will take on OC Dojo newcomer Adam Watts in a welterweight bout.

In two more clashes of MMA newcomers, lightweights Junior Merkle of the Krav Maga team and Jovanny

Velarve from the Team Quest will lock horns in a three rounder, and Sidekicks Fight Academy's Brian

Potrillo takes on OC Dojo's Darby Faulkner in a lightweight scrap.

Opening up this stellar seven-bout card is a welterweight war between Unbreakable Gym's Josh Cross (1-0)

and Fight Science MMA's Robert Membrilla (0-0).

The move to the Hyatt Regency Irvine according to Englebrecht, was due to its larger ballroom capacity of

over 1,500 which will allow more fans to attend. The Irvine Marriott will remain the home of the nationally

known Battle In The Ballroom boxing series also promoted by Englebrecht, who also announced that Valor

Fighting will serve as matchmaker for the inaugural OctoberFist 2007 show.
