WBC Press Release

About Our WBC Champion Thomasz Adamek

Executive members of the World Boxing Council in Australia, have contacted its President to request

information on world champion Thomasz Adamek, of Poland, who has not made a defense of his title for

8 months and neither has he made his mandatory defense against Paul Briggs.

The World Boxing Council has always been very proud of world champion Thomasz Adamek, considering

him as one of the most powerful champions nowadays; he was also elected “Boxer of the Year 2005”, and

for such reason we are puzzled about his strange and unexpected behavior.

The World Boxing Council is hereby requesting Thomasz Adamek his immediate fulfillment of this

commitment, as otherwise a vote will be taken to order a fight for the vacant title.
