Columbus for Caged Vengeance 8

The Pro Series Returns to Columbus at Caged Vengeance 8 Aeschlimann defends against Masterson; Schlichter Takes on Stansbury
The NAAFS returns to the Aladdin Shrine Center in Columbus, OH on Friday September 24th for Caged Vengeance 8, featuring the stars of the Pro and National Amateur Series in action live! The Columbus fight fans will be treated to a night of hard hitting action at this taped for TV event, which will include a Pro Series Championship bout.
Pro Series Middleweight Champion "Showtime" AJ Aeschlimann (9-0) of Instigator Fight Team defends his title for the first time at Caged Vengeance 8 against Matt Masterson (8-3) of Strong Style Fight Team. Already a National Amateur Champion, Aeschlimann captured the Interim title at Fight Nite in the Flats VI and then was awarded the Pro Series Middleweight title when former champion Chris Lozano made the permanent move to the Welterweight division. Masterson, an NAAFS veteran from the original two Fight Nite in the Flats events, enters Caged Vengeance 8 with the opportunity to bring the belt back to the Strong Style fold and hand Aeschlimann his first loss in the process. Aeschlimann has the opportunity to successfully defend the championship against one of Strong Style's toughest competitors and walk out the gold still in his possession.
Columbus' own Thad Schlichter (7-3) makes his return to the Pro Series Light Heavyweight division when he takes on East Liverpool native Josh "Sandman" Stansbury (10-4) in battle of the two of the heaviest hitters in the 205 lbs weight class. In addition, Brandon "X-Man" Hance (10-3) takes on Columbus native Billy Vaughan (7-5), and 2008 National Amateur Lightweight Champion Josh "Buzzsaw" Johnson (9-0) takes on top international prospect & Costa Rican champion Alejandro Villalobos (8-2) in a contender's bout.
The road to December for the National Amateur Series kicks it into high gear with many top ranked fighters in action at Caged Vengeance 8. In the Light Heavyweight division, #2 ranked Mike King (4-1) of Buckeye MMA takes on #3 ranked Jason Butcher (6-1) of Team Jorge Gurgel, #3 ranked Heavyweight Travis "Too Tough" Tackett (4-1) will face undefeated 2009 National Amateur Heavyweight Champion Rick "Have A Nice" Day (7-0) of USA Martial Arts, #4 ranked Lightweight & former two-time NCAA All-American Clint Musser (3-0) takes on Ray Hernandez (5-1) of Bad Dog MMA, among a full night of live fights.
