The 2010 National Amateur Series Is Off And Running
(02/01/10 - Akron, OH) - The 2010 National Amateur Series season kicked off in a big way this past Saturday night in front of a sold out crowd and over 31,000 viewers on Ustream.tv, as the NAAFS presented Midwest Combat Challenge 10. The fans were treated to a night of high octane mixed martial arts action inside the NAAFS cage, featuring new stars emerging along with familiar names returning to the fold.

This Week On NAAFS Cage Fighting The TV Series

This week's episode of NAAFS Cage Fighting is the last broadcast to emanate from the much talked about 2009 Night of Champions event in Akron, OH . The 2009 National Amateur Bantamweight Champion is determined when #1 ranked JP "The Jackhammer" Jaranowski takes on #2 ranked Bill Fienberg. Plus, less than a month before he challenges Frank "The Tank" Caraballo for the Interim Pro Series Lightweight title, relive the night Daniel Straus shocked the NAAFS Nation by making history against one of the most decorated fighters to ever rise through the ranks of the NAAFS, "Smokin" Joe Heiland. NAAFS Caged Fury 9 Tickets Are On Sale Now And Moving Fast!
The NAAFS returns to Gray's Armory in downtown Cleveland, OH on Saturday February 20th for Caged Fury 9, an event that will feature the stars of both the Pro & National Amateur Series in action live. This event will be headlined by two Pro Series title fights, the first round of the Pro Series Featherweight title tournament, as well as featuring some of the top stars in the promotion battling it out inside the NAAFS cage.

NAAFS Veteran Listed As Best Nickname In Women's MMA
The Cage Doctors recently compiled a list of the best nicknames in all of Women's MMA. The list includes such names as current Strikeforce champion Cris "Cyborg" Santos and Debi "Whiplash" Purcell. However, topping the list is NAAFS veteran "The Crazy Bitch" Amber Powell of Cleveland, OK.
