N-D-N Promotions Presents Freestyle Cage Fighting Results "The Brawl For It All - Round 2" October 7, 2006 Cain's Ballroom Tulsa, Oklahoma
- Special Thanks go out to Anthony J. Sullivan for the following recap \ results:
N-D-N Promotions presented Freestyle Cage Fighting to an almost sold out crowd with 10 action packed bouts to keep the crowd entertained. One of the great features of this event, besides the awesome sound system, is the two giant screens for easy viewing - you could see what was happening no matter where your seat was. They have great entrance lights with a smoke machine which added a little flare before each bout. This production also uses one of the best cages I've seen in this region made by a company called Extreme Aluminum Fight Cage Rental out of Springfield, MO. The referees for the night were Shane Garrett and UFC fighter David Heath. Heath was the last champion for this group and he refereed matches 2, 3, 6, and 9. There was a special appearance by actor Gary Nickens (he was in Bad Boys 2 with Will Smith) and he was doing a raffle for Operation Smile. The card featured the semi-finals of their 145 lb. and 185 lb. tournaments. Tulsa Top Team fighter Josh Pulsifer withdrew from the tournament for unspecified reasons so his opponent Eric Payne will advance to the finals of the 145 lb. tournament.
Dustin Lesley wins by submission (rear naked choke) at :49 of the first round over Ryan Bush The 170 lb. Lesley (2-0) from Ft Smith, Arkansas defeated the 174 lb. Bush (0-1) from Caney, Kansas in the first round via tap out due to a rear naked choke. The crowd was super excited for this first match. Dustin came out strong and took Bush down. After a short scramble, Dustin took his back and secured the choke for the win.
Fight 2 - 185 lb. Bout Bubba McDaniel wins by submission (rear naked choke) at 2:18 of the second round over Nick Budig The 184 lb. McDaniel (6-2) from Wichita Falls, Texas beat the 185 lb. Budig (1-1) from Hill City, Kansas in the second round by tap out due to a rear naked choke. The fight started with them wrapping up and Budig taking him down. Bubba tried an arm bar from the bottom but lost it, so they fought for position on the ground. Bubba took him down with a single leg, then took his back going for a rear naked choke. Budig was able to reverse it and was on top mount to end the first round. In the second round, Budig took top mount but Bubba tried the arm bar again from the bottom. Budig was able to get away, then started punching him from the top. Nick tried for a choke but Bubba took his back again and won with the rear naked choke. An excellent fight.
Fight 3 - 175 lb. Bout Wayne Bridgeman wins by TKO (strikes) at 1:21 of the first round over Bobby Martin Tulsa fighter Wayne Bridgeman (170 lbs., now 3-0) defeated Bobby Martin (179 lbs., now 1-2 of Bartlesville, Oklahoma) in the first round by referee stoppage due to strikes. They started things out throwing punches, feeling each other out - then Wayne pressed him against the cage, took him down and pounded on him for the win. Wayne looked awesome here.
Fight 4 - 155 lb. Bout Enoch McDonald wins by submission (triangle choke) at :30 of the third round over Robby Delzeit McDonald (154 lbs), now 1-0 from Tulsa, Oklahoma won over the 158 lb. Delzeit (now 0-1 from Ft Hayes, Kansas) in the third round by tap out due to a triangle choke. They both came out throwing right off the bat until Enoch slammed Robby to the ground. Enoch had top mount, doing good with the ground & pound. Robby gave up his back and Enoch tried to choke him but couldn't so he just threw punches to the side of the head while he had a body triangle locked on. In round two, Robby actually landed some good blows to start the round. Enoch tried for a double leg takedown but all he got was a knee in the head. At one point, Robby was on the ground doing the butt scoot move but Enoch pounced on him. The action packed round ended with both of them locked up on the ground. Robby took him down in round three but Enoch was able to sink in the triangle choke for the win. McDonald is one to watch as he will only get better with experience.
Fight 5 - 205 lb. Bout Jimmy Johnson wins by submission (rear naked choke) at 1:22 of the first round over Sherman Pugh Tulsa fighter Jimmy Johnson (193 lbs., now 4-1) beat Sherman Pugh (now 0-1 of Lawton, Oklahoma) by tap out in the first round with a rear naked choke. The match started out with a small delay as Pugh was missing some gear and a commission representative was talking to him. When the fight finally started, Pugh got nailed with a right hand seconds in, then was taken down. Johnson then applied a side choke but Pugh escaped before Johnson transitioned into a rear naked choke for the win.
Fight 6 - 170 lb. Bout Shawn Fitzsimmons wins by TKO (strikes) at 2:20 of the second round over Shane Jackson Shawn Fitzsimmons (172 lbs., now 1-0 out of Ft Smith, Arkansas) beat Shane Jackson (170 lbs., now 0-2 out of Tulsa, Oklahoma) by TKO in the second round when the referee stopped it due to strikes. They were throwing low kicks to start out until Jackson slammed Fitzsimmons to the mat. Jackson had top mount, then switched to his back and tried for a rear naked choke but couldn't secure it. He tried the choke a few more times and had an arm bar as the bell rang to end the first round. The second round started with Fitzsimmons taking control early by getting Jackson on the ground. He threw punches from the top but nothing really significant landed at first but the referee stopped it because Jackson had taken too many blows.
Fight 7 - 185 lb. Bout Warren Walker wins by submission (choke) at 1:38 of the first round over Randy Springli Warren Walker (179 lbs., now 1-1 of Tulsa) beat Randy Springli (186 lbs., now 0-2 of Lawton, OK) in the first round by tap out due to a choke. Walker started things off with a huge slam. While in top mount, he transitioned to side control. Walker then choked him out with a top choke. Walker was just completely dominating in the fight.
Fight 8 - 155 lb. Bout LC Davis wins by forfeit over Joe Davis LC Davis won his match by forfeit over Joe Davis when Joe Davis left the arena before the fight started. LC Davis was 154 lbs., from Kansas City, Missouri and was 5-0 coming into the fight - Joe Davis was 1-3, 156.5 lbs. from Ponca City, Oklahoma. LC Davis was originally going to fight Jason Anderson. Joe Davis took the fight when he couldn't make the weight limit for his match with Brook Medrano who was sent home. LC had his special rap music playing and danced his way into the cage ready to fight. The announcer called the name of Joe Davis twice and nobody ever came out - then someone from the promotion came into the ring - It was announced Joe Davis had left and LC was the winner by forfeit. This was unfortunate because the fans really wanted to see LC Davis fight again.
Fight 9 - 185 lb. Tournament Bout Gerald Harris wins by knockout at 1:58 of the second round over Joe Bunch Tulsa favorite Gerald Harris (185 lbs., now 3-0) won over Joe Bunch (184 lbs., now 5-1 of Poteau, Oklahoma) in the second round by knockout. In the first round, Harris had Bunch against the cage and tried to land knees but none of them looked to do much damage. These two fighters were evenly matched so the action was slow at first. Then Bunch slammed Harris to the ground with a throw that looked like it could have killed Harris with the height and power involved in it. The second round was a chess match with nothing happening until Harris was able to take Bunch down. While on top, Harris landed some devastating blows and it was the end of a great fight. Harris will now fight Bubba McDaniel on the Nov. 10th show at the same venue.
Fight 10 - 145 lb. Tournament Bout Daniel Sullivan wins by submission (rear naked choke) at 2:52 of the first round over Alo Contreras Daniel Sullivan (now 4-1 from Bristow, Oklahoma) was a huge crowd favorite as he beat Alo Contreras (now 1-1 of Wichita Falls, Texas) in the first round by tap out due to a rear naked choke. Both men weighed in at the 145 lb. limit. It started with both just giving it their all until Sullivan eventually got on top. Alo reversed it but Sullivan tried a triangle choke, then took his back and won with a rear naked choke.
