Mauricio "Shogun" Rua

Doing Well After Surgery

Special Thanks go out to Julio Heller for the photograph and the following:

The fighter Maurício Shogun was submitted to a surgery in the arm this weekend, in Hospital VITA,

Curitiba. He had a fall in the last fight in Japan against Mark Coleman - the athlete suffered an injury in the

ligaments of the elbow.

He was operated on this Saturday (11th) by the Doctor Carlos Enrique Branches, member of the team of

Doctor Mário Namba - specialized in athletes attendance, as Daiane Dos Santos, Daniele Hipólito and

Wanderlei Silva.

Commentary of Dr. Carlos:

"The surgery was a success, completely repairs the ligaments that had been affected by the injury of the

elbow and the athlete already goes home this Sunday. A surgery like that demands 3 or 4 months of

recovery, but everything depends on the reply of the athlete, in the case of the Shogun that is very young

and strong the process could be faster."
