- Special Thanks go out to Anthony J. Sullivan for the following recap and results:

A good sized crowd of about 1,000 fans attended King of the Cage: Cyclone this past Saturday night. It was

the best event to date that I have seen around this area. The referee for every bout was Cecil Peoples.

Fight 1 - Amateur Bout (3x3min)

Abel Collum wins by submission (rear naked choke) at 1:27 of the second round over John Chester

The 145 lb. Abel Collum of New Mexico (now 10-1 amateur record) defeated the 145 lb. John Chester of

Illinois (now  0-2 as an amateur) in 1:27 of the second round by submission due to a rear naked choke. They

came out fast and aggressive to start the show in a great fashion. Collum had the better stand up and many

of his very hard punches found their mark - dropping Chester to the mat. Chester looked like he wanted to be

out of there after taking so many shots but hung in there - Collum was definitely the aggressor landing kicks

and punches at will. Collum, at one point, busted out the crane pose from the Karate Kid movies. Chester

shocked everyone when he dropped Collum towards the end of the round but made the mistake of allowing

Collum back up. Chester had a bloody mouth at the end of the first round. Collum started the second round

landing big punches again but messed up on a slam landing in bottom position. Eventually, Collum came out

on top and took the back of Chester to secure the choke for the win. Abel Collum was extremely impressive

in this bout with his striking ability and aggressive style.

Fight 2 - Amateur Bout (3x3min)

Dewayne Haynes wins by submission (arm bar) at 2:05 of the first round over Ryan Gillman

Crowd favorite, 200 lb. Dewayne Haynes of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma (now 1-0 am) defeated the 185 lb.

Ryan Gillman of Tulsa, Oklahoma (now 0-1 am) in 2:05 of the first round by arm bar. They said Haynes

trains with Bas Rutten's fight team in Oklahoma - he had the height advantage being 6'2" to the 5'9" Gillman.

Haynes used a classic wrestling suplex at the start, then took mount where he unloaded punches before

transitioning into side control. Haynes landed big elbows while Gillman worked to try and hold from his back.

Gillman almost had something locked but Haynes was able to slam out of it. When the action hit the mat,

Gillman didn't break the hold attempt but Haynes got the arm bar to win. This was a great match and both

men looked very good for it being their first ever bout. Haynes showed he has tremendous wrestling ability

(he wore wrestling shoes) and a good submission game. Gillman showed he was able to absorb punishment

while staying calm working off his back.

Fight 3 - Amateur Bout (3x3min)

Mikey Bennett wins by TKO (strikes) at 1:42 of the second round over Jared Weise

The 155 lb. Mikey "The Caveman" Bennett of New Castle, Indiana (now 6-2 am record) defeated the 155 lb.

Jared Weise of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma (now 0-1 am) in 1:42 of the second round by TKO due to a ref

stoppage due to strikes. Weise trains with Team Triton and Bennett trains with Team Wolfpack. They circled

around until Bennett was able to get a hard slam. Bennett passed the guard of Weise and unloaded some

shots from the top before they were stood back up by the referee. Weise landed some kicks but was taken

down. The first round ended with Bennett in top mount and in control. The start of the second round saw

Bennett shoot in and slamming Weise to the mat, then taking top mount. Bennett started landing punches

and elbows blooding up the nose of Weise until the ref stepped in.

Fight 4 - Amateur Bout (3x3min)

Jason Lee wins by submission (strikes) at 1:01 of the second round over Moises Castillo

Local favorite, 219 lb. Jason Lee of Tulsa, Oklahoma (now 1-0 am) defeated the 263 lb. Moises Castillo of

New Mexico (now am 5-2) in 1:01 of the second round by tap out due to strikes. Lee trains with Tulsa Top

Team. Castillo started things out throwing some bombs while Lee looked for a takedown. Castillo got a front

head lock for a bit but let it go. Castillo again hit Lee with some big punches that staggered Lee. After some

big right hands, Lee tasted the canvas. However, Castillo looked to tire at the end of the first and Lee took

control on the ground in top mount landing some elbows. The clinched up to start the second round, shoving

each other into the cage until Lee got the takedown and landed big elbows for the tap out. Lee had to be

held up by "The Icon" because he was so emotional after his win.

Fight 5 - Pro Bout (2x5min)

Joe Geromiller wins by submission (rear naked choke) at 3:09 of the first round over Gabe Morantes

The 170 lb., 32 year old Joe "The Flying Dutchman" Geromiller of Illinois (now 14-13-1) defeated the 170 lb.

Gabe Morantes of New Mexico (now 4-2) in 3:09 of the first round by rear naked choke. Geromiller trains

with the War Room Fight Club. Geromiller took Morantes down and pressed him against the cage to start

the action. From there, he worked his punches but Morantes wrapped him up until the referee separated

them. Back on their feet, Geromiller landed some big punches until they hit the ground. Morantes

transitioned into an ankle lock but Geromiller applied his own ankle lock. Morantes eventually lost his hold

and Geromiller quickly took the back securing the rear naked choke for the win. Geromiller looked like the

seasoned vet that he is.

Fight 6 - Pro Bout (2x5min)

Johnny Hughes wins by TKO at 2:21 of the first round over Shane Jackson

The 171 lb. Johnny Hughes of New Castle, Indiana (now 3-1 with a 3-2 am record) defeated the 170 lb.

Shane Jackson of Tulsa, Oklahoma (now 0-3 with a 0-1 am record against Mikey Bennett who was on the

card) in 2:21 of the first round via a TKO due to a ref stoppage due to strikes. Hughes trains with Team

Wolfpack and Jackson trains with Team Triton. Hughes came right in - ducking Jackson's punches and

slammed him to the mat. He then slammed him again moments later, taking top mount where he threw big

elbows. Hughes was going for an arm triangle from the top but gave it up for more elbow strikes. He landed

the elbows until the referee called a stop to the bout.

Fight 7 - Pro Bout (2x5min)

Chris Bowles wins by submission (arm bar) at 4:04 of the first round over Kenny Giddens

The 155 lb. Chris Bowles of Dallas, Texas (now 6-1) defeated the 155 lb. Kenny Giddens of Tulsa, Oklahoma

in 4:04 of the first round by arm bar. Giddens trains with Tulsa Top Team and Bowles trains at the Lion's

Den. Bowles also had former UFC fighter Tra Telligman in his corner. They stood and traded shots looking for

the knockout. They were fighting at a very fast pace in this bout. Giddens started to bleed from the nose after

Bowles landed a few knees. Both tried to take it to the mat but they stayed standing trading punches.

Giddens landed some good punches, then a knee to the face of Bowles cutting his cheek. They hit the

ground and Bowles had top mount landing good punches, then transitioned quickly into the arm bar for the

win. This was a great fight and both looked very good.

The 155 lb. Mark Barrett of Oklahoma defeated the 145 lb. Matt Jaggers of New Castle, Indiana in 3:24 of the

first round by guillotine choke. Barrett trains with Team Impact and Jaggers trains with Team Wolfpack. They

wrapped up and hit the ground with Jaggers taking top mount. Jaggers took him down again and landed big

shots before getting an uma plata (shoulder lock). Barrett survived a while but Jaggers locked up his arm and

landed big punches to his face. Then in a major surprise, Jaggers lost the bout while in top mount when

Barrett secured the guillotine choke from his back. It was a major surprise because Jaggers was completely

dominating the bout.

Jimmy Johnson wins by submission (strikes) at 4:24 of the first round over Red Cloud Annque

The 6', 195 lb. Jimmy Johnson of Tulsa, Oklahoma (now 5-1) defeated the 5'10", 195 lb. Red Cloud Annque

of Tulsa, Oklahoma in 4:24 of the first round from a tap out due to strikes. Johnson trains with Team Triton

and Red Cloud trains with the Bas Rutten team. Johnson landed a loud right kick to the leg, then got a

standing guillotine - picking Red Cloud off the mat. Johnson lost the hold when it hit the ground and wrapped

him up - stalling the action before the referee stood them back up. Johnson looked to have tired after the

previous submission attempt. Standing, Johnson landed a good punch and knee before the fight hit the

ground again. Johnson tried for a rear naked choke but lost it when Red Cloud reversed the position.

Johnson regained control getting side mount looking for a kimura. Johnson gave up the submission attempt

and rained down punches until Red Cloud tapped. A very good fight.

him down again, gaining side control, then transitioning into the north/south position looking for a kimura.

Clinton then switched to his back, sunk in his hooks and won with the rear naked choke. The fans cheered

for Clinton like he was a huge superstar which is what he looked like in this bout. A great showcase of skills

by Clinton.
