Bouts were scheduled for three rounds (three minutes each round) with a one round extension if needed

unless noted.

 

Fight 1 - Opening Bout (3 Rds x 3 min)

Ryuji Kajiwara wins a three round unanimous decision (3-0) over Keiichi Samukawa

 

Fight 2 - Opening Bout (3 Rds x 3 min)

Singh "Heart" Jaideep wins by knockout at 1:36 of the second round over Makoto Uehara

 

Fight 2 - Opening Bout (3 Rds x 3 min)

Jan Soukup wins a three round unanimous decision (3-0) over Tsutomu Takahagi

 

Fight 4 - Tournament Reserve Bout 1

Peter Aerts wins a three round unanimous decision (3-0) over Gokhan Saki

At the end of the second round, Saki downed with a right.

 

Fight 5 - Tournament Quarter Final Bout - Bracket A

Badr Hari wins by knockout (two knock down rule) at :38 of the first round over Ruslan Karaev

In the first round, Karaev downed with a right hook (got up and took the eight count).....the fight resumed and

the fighters traded punches and Hari landed another right hook that put Karaev on his back (up quickly) but

the ref stepped in to stop the bout (two knock downs in a round tournament rule).

 

Fight 6 - Tournament Quarter Final Bout - Bracket A

Alistair Overeem wins by knockout (left knee) at 1:06 of the first round over Ewerton Teixeira

In the first round, Overeem was able to get a Thai clinch and land successive knees - a left knee to the body

and a left knee to the chin which put Teixeira out and sent him face first to the canvas.

 

Fight 7 - Tournament Quarter Final Bout - Bracket B

Semmy Schilt wins by knockout (two knock down rule) at 1:27 of the fist round over Jerome Le Banner

In the first round, Le Banner downed briefly with a right body kick....the fight resumed and after a brief

exchange, Le Banner downed with a left kick to the body and the ref stepped in to stop the bout (two knock

downs in a round tournament rule).

 

Fight 8 - Tournament Quarter Final Bout - Bracket B

Remy Bonjasky wins a unanimous decision (3-0) over Errol Zimmerman

In the first round, Zimmerman downed with a right hook (up right away).

 

Fight 9 - Tournament Reserve Bout 2

Daniel Ghita wins by knockout at :36 of the third round over Sergey Kharitonov

In the third round, Kharitonov went down from a right kick to his left leg and took the 10 count (was taking

right leg kicks to his left leg throughout the fight).

 

Fight 11 - Tournament Semi-Final Bout - Bracket A

Badr Hari wins by knockout (two knock down rule) at 2:14 of the first round over Alistair Overeem

In the first round, Overeem downed with a right (up at the count of eight)...the fight resumed and after a brief

exchange, Overeem got tagged with a left kick to the face and was sent back into a corner on chicken legs

when the ref jumped in and stopped the bout.

 

Fight 12 - Tournament Semi-Final Bout - Bracket B

Semmy Schilt wins by knockout (two knock down rule) at 2:38 of the first round over Remy Bonjasky

At the start of the first round, Schilt downed with a left hook (up right away)...the fight continued and with

about a minute left in the round, Bonjasky downed with a left, right combo (up at the count of eight - looked

to be favoring his left leg).....the fight continued and Bonjasky went down from a right kick to his left leg and

the ref stopped in and stopped the bout (two knock downs in a round tournament rule).

 

Fight 10 - Super Fight

Tyrone Spong wins a unanimous decision (3-0) over Kyotaro

 

Fight 13 - 2009 K-1 World Grand Prix Tournament Final (2 Rd ext if needed)

Semmy Schilt wins by knockout (three knock down rule) at 1:48 of the first round over Badr Hari

In the first round, Hari downed with a straight left (up at the count of eight).......the fight resumed and after a

brief exchange, Hari downed again with a left high kick (up at the count of eight)......the fight resumed and

after another brief exchange, Hari was downed for a third time with a left kick to the body and the ref stepped

in to stop the bout (three knock downs in a round tournament final rule). Semmy Schilt is the 2009 K-1
