The Great Nicaraguan boxer Alexis Arguello died on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at his home in Nicaragua from

what the Nicaraguan press is calling a self-inflicted gun shot to the chest - he was 57 years old.

- WBA Featherweight Champion (won in '74)

- WBC Super Featherweight Champion (won in '78)

- WBC Lightweight Champion (won in '81)

- Boxing Hall of Fame - 1992
