Damir Mirenic Participating in Hardcore Fighting Championship

Just days after signing the contract with MMA Manager, a rising Croatian star Damir Mirenic is going to fight in the biggest Canadian organization in a co-main event.
This will be Damir’s first time fighting in North America and with the Hardcore Fighting Championship where the main event will be staring Aleksander Emelianenko vs. Wesley “Cabbage” Correira. The fight will take place October 19th in Calgary, Canada.
Damir will be fighting against one of the toughest middleweight strikers Gegard Mousasi with MMA record 17-2-1. Damir trained with the Cro Crop team and is currently training at Black Dragon Alliance in Zagreb, Croatia and holds an MMA record of 8-2-0. Damir is 33 years old, trained boxing since he was 18 and has an outstanding record 45-4-2, as well as an extensive list of championship titles. Mirenic is the winner of the 2005 and 2006 Croatian grappling tournament. Damir Mirenic has proven himself tough and skillful fighter with specialized skills derived from his training and serving with the Croatian Special Military forces and 80 Parachute jumps from highest latitude of 17,000 feet.
After speaking with Damir’s manager Zoran Saric he said “Damir is a great fighter, one of a kind, he is very excited about this fight. He has a great, positive personality. We originally planned an easier opponent for him but as the option with Mousasi opened up Damir asked to fight him and wants to fight the toughest opponent out there. “ When we asked what are his plans for Damir in the future Mr. Saric said “I don’t like to rush any of my fighters, after some getting used to the American way of fighting I will gladly open the UFC door for him”.
