Joel Casamayor (35-3-1, 21 KOs) wins a split decision over Jose Armando Santa-Cruz (25-3, 14 KOs) -

Judges scored the bout 114-113 Casamayor, 114-113 Santa-Cruz, 114-113 Casamayor. Casamayor retains

title. In the first round, Casamayor got hit with a straight left on his right elbow as he was moving back and

went down (more of an off-balance \ push type of deal) - the ref called it a knockdown. Santa-Cruz looked like

he dominated most of the rounds but somehow came up short on the judges score cards.

 

WBO Intercontinental Welterweight Title Bout (12 Rds)

Antonio Margarito (35-5, 25 KOs) wins by KO at 2:38 of the 1st rd over Golden Johnson (25-9-3, 18 KOs)

Johnson downed three times in the first - the last coming from a left to the body. Margarito wins title.

 

WBA Welterweight Title Bout (12 Rds)

Miguel Cotto (31-0, 25 KOs) wins a unanimous decision over Shane Mosley (44-5, 37 KO’s) - Judges

scored the bout 115-113, 115-113, 116-113 for Cotto. Cotto retains title.
