WBC Continental Americas Welterweight Title Bout (10 Rds)

Alfonso Gomez (21-4-2, 10 KOs) wins a technical decision over Jesus Soto-Karass (24-4-3, 16 KOs) -

Judges scored the bout 58-54, 57-55, 57-55 for Gomez - Gomez wins title. In the third round, Soto-Karass

penalized a point for low blows. In the fourth round, Soto-Karass penalized a point for low blows. In the sixth

round, the ref called time-out to check a cut above the right eye on Gomez (caused by an accidental head

butt earlier in the fight) - the doctor checked the cut and decided to stop the bout at 2:41 of the

round....causing the fight to go to the score cards.

WBA Jr. Middleweight Title Bout (12 Rds)

Yuri Foreman (28-0, 8 KOs) wins a unanimous decision over Daniel Santos (32-4-1, 23 KOs) - Judges

scored the bout 116-110, 117-109, 117-109 for Foreman - Foreman wins title from Santos. Towards the end

of the second round, Santos and Foreman were in a clinch and when they tried to separate, Santos was

downed with a wide right hook (complaining it was a push behind the head) - got up at the count of five to

end the round. Towards the end of the 12th round, Santos downed briefly with a left (up right away).

Middleweight Bout (10 Rds)

Julio Cesar Chavez (41-0-1, 30 KOs) wins a unanimous decision over Troy Rowland (25-3, 7 KOs) -

Judges scored the bout 99-91, 98-92, 97-93 for Chavez.

WBO Welterweight Title Bout (12 Rds)

Manny Pacquiao (50-3-2, 38 KOs) wins by TKO at :55, 12th rd over Miguel Angel Cotto (34-2, 27 KOs) -

Pacquiao wins title from Cotto.  In the third round, Pacquiao landed a right that sent sent Cotto down briefly

(both his gloves touched the canvas but he pushed himself up quickly). Towards the end of the fourth round,

Cotto downed from a left uppercut (up quickly). In the 12th round, it looked like the ref was just looking for a

reason to stop the bout as Cotto was being dominated in the later rounds...and after a small flurry from

Pacquiao against the ropes, the ref had finally seen enough and stopped the bout.
