Middleweight Bout (8 Rds)

Dion Savage (8-0, 5 KOs) wins a unanimous decision over Tommie Speller (5-4, 3 KOs)

 

NABO Jr. Lightweight Bout (10 Rds)

Eloy Perez (17-0-1, 4 KOs) wins a majority decision over Gilberto Leon (21-7-2, 7 KOs) - Judges scored

the bout 95-95, 97-93, 96-94 for Perez - Perez retains title.

 

Jr. Welterweight Bout (8 Rds)

Jesse Vargas (10-0, 5 KOs) wins by TKO at 1:20 of the 6th rd over Arturo Morua (25-14-1, 14 KOs)

In the sixth round, after seeing Morua take a lot of punishment throughout the bout (and getting tagged hard

with a left hook, right combo and not fighting back), the ref had seen enough and stopped the bout.

 

Televised:

Welterweight Bout (10 Rds)

Said Ouali (27-3, 19 KOs) wins by TKO at 1:47 of the 1st rd over Hector David Saldivia (33-2, 26 KOs)

In the first round, Ouali downed with a combo - up at the count of eight. The fight resumed and after a brief

exchange, Saldivia was downed with a right, then left hook combo (up at the count of three). The fight

resumed and Ouali landed a right hook that put Saldivia down again - Saldivia up at the count of three and

walked towards a corner and the ref didn't like what he saw and stopped the bout.

 

WBC Latino Featherweight Title Bout (10 Rds)

Daniel Ponce De Leon (39-2, 32 KOs) wins a unanimous decision over Cornelius Lock (19-5-1, 12 KOs)

- Judges scored the bout 96-94, 97-93, 96-94 for De Leon - De Leon retains title.

 

Welterweight Bout (10 Rds)

Saul Alvarez (32-0-1, 24 KOs) wins by TKO at 2:51 of the 9th rd over Jose Miguel Cotto (31-2-1, 23 KOs)

In the first round, Alvarez staggered with a left hook. At the end of the second round, Cotto got tagged with

a right uppercut that caused him to lose his balance and his gloves touched the canvas bracing himself

from falling (was given a standing eight count to end the round). In the ninth round, Cotto was stunned a bit

by a right and went back against the ropes. Alvarez followed up with more rights and Cotto was content

trying to avoid the punches, only occasionally punching back....the ref looking on closely decided to stop the

bout to the dismay of Cotto.

 

Welterweight Bout (12 Rds)

Floyd Mayweather Jr. (41-0, 25 KOs) wins a unanimous decision over Shane Mosley (46-6, 39 KOs) -

Judges scored the bout 119-109, 119-109, 118-110 for Mayweather.
