Matthysse downed against the ropes towards the end of the first round with a right (up right away) - At the

start of the second round, Matthysse downed with another right (up at the count of three) - the fight resumed

and Matthysse got caught with a left\right combo that put him down and out. Cintron retains title.

Alfonso Gomez (17-3-2, 8 KO’s) wins by knockout at 2:12 of the 7th rd over Arturo Gatti (40-9, 31 KOs) -

In the seventh, Gatti went to his knees from a right and the ref started to count and at the count of eight, the

ref was signaled to stop the bout as Gatti was still bent over on his knees.
