WBA Super Lightweight Title Bout (12 Rds)

Amir Khan (25-1, 17 KOs) wins a technical decision over Paul McCloskey (22-1, 12 KOs) - Judges scored

the bout 60-54, 60-54, 60-54 for Khan - Khan retains title. In the sixth round, an accidental head butt opened

up a cut above the left eye of McCloskey - The doctor checked the cut and stopped the bout.

WBC Welterweight Title Bout (12 Rds)

Victor Ortiz (29-2-2, 22 KOs) wins a unanimous decision over Andre Berto (27-1, 21 KOs) - Judges scored

the bout 115-110, 114-112, 114-111 for Ortiz - Ortiz wins title from Berto.


In the first round, with a little over a minute gone by, Berto got hit with a short clubbing left and went down but

the ref ruled it wasn't a knock down but rather it was a slip as Berto got up complaining he got hit behind the

head (replay showed it should have been ruled a knock down). The bout resumed and with a little over a

minute left in the round, Ortiz landed a right that sent Berto back against the ropes - Ortiz swarmed Berto,

peppering him with punches with the most damage coming from an upper cut until Berto went down (up right



In the second round, with less than 30 seconds left, Ortiz and Berto both threw rights at the same time...only

Berto's landed that sent Ortiz back off balance causing Ortiz's right glove to touch the canvas to regain his

balance - Ortiz received an eight count.


In the sixth round, Berto landed a hard counter right that sent Ortiz down (up at the count of  three). The fight

resumed and Berto went on the attack - Ortiz was able to weather the storm and with less than 10 seconds

left in the round, Ortiz landed a counter right hook that sent Berto down - up right away to end the round.


In the 10th round, Ortiz was penalized a point for hitting behind the head.
