WBA Lightweight Title Eliminator Bout (12 Rds)

Brandon Rios (25-0-1, 18 KOs) wins by 7th round disqualification over Anthony Peterson (30-1, 20 KOs)

At the end of the fifth round, Peterson downed with a  left hook - up at the count of three to end the round.

In the sixth round, Peterson penalized two points for low blows (one point twice in the round). With one

second left in the seventh round, Peterson landed another low blow that caused the ref to disqualify him

(excessive low blows). Rios was ahead on all scorecards at the time of the stoppage.

 

WBA \ IBF Unification Featherweight Title Bout (12 Rds)

Yuriorkis Gamboa (19-0, 15 KOs) wins a unanimous decision over Orlando Salido (34-11-2, 22 KOs)

Judges scored the bout 116-109, 114-109, 115-109 for Gamboa - Gamboa retains WBA title and wins IBF

title from Salido. In the eighth round, Gamboa downed with a counter right (up right away). In the 12th round,

Salido went down from what looked like a slip but it was ruled a knockdown (up right away). The fight

resumed and after a brief exchange, Salido went down from a left, right combo but Gamboa followed up with

a shot behind the head while Salido was on the ground - the ref called time and penalized Gamboa two

points for intentionally hitting a downed opponent.
