Cleveland, Ohio

- Special Thanks go out to Greg Kalikas (Gladiators Fighting Series, Prokarateweekly) for the following

  information:

Cleveland, OH USA -The Gladiators Fighting Series is proud to announce its return to the Plain Dealer Stage

(formerly Scene Pavilion) Saturday, June 10, 2006 in Cleveland, Ohio with one of the biggest and best Mixed

Martial Arts fight cards planned to date.

“Fight Nite in the Flats 2,” presented by BetonFighting.com and McCarthy’s Ale House in the Flats, will

showcase several of Cleveland’s premier fighters on a card which will feature over a dozen MMA bouts that

will take place in a 6-sided cage along the river in Cleveland's famed "Flats" entertainment district.

Three world titles will be up for grabs as the Gladiators Fighting Series will crown its first ever MMA

champions. In the main event, Cleveland's former "King of the Cage" Super Heavyweight champion and

veteran of Pride Fighting and the UFC, DanThe BullBobish (11-8), will take on Lancaster, Ohio’s Erik

Knox for the Gladiators Super Heavyweight Title. Knox (8-8), who’s been in the cage with UFC veteran

Brandon Lee Hinkle will likely not be intimidated, however Bobish, a 3-time All-American wrestler at Mount

Union University, will be fighting in front of his hometown fans and will not want to disappoint.

The surging Josh Hendricks (12-4), winner of five straight fights, will clash with PatrickThe Bear

Barrentine (4-1), a student of "TUF 2" co-star George Gurgel, for the Gladiators Heavyweight crown. A

2-time NCAA All–American wrestler, Hendricks has won both of his Gladiators appearances while finishing

each opponent in the first round. Barrentine is a 7-time Greco Roman national champion with heavy hands

and a ton of heart who should not be taken lightly.

The hard hitting Allan Weickert (8-3) will face off with Hammer House product RobThe BullriderWince

(14-5) in another highly anticipated title fight. Weickert, a veteran of KOTC, WEC and the Gladiators Fighting

Series, will face one of his toughest opponents to date in Wince, whose last Gladiators appearance earned

him a first round win over Greg Franklin. Both Gladiators will have a lot on the line as they battle for the

Gladiators Light Heavyweight Championship.

Coming off a semi-final run at the recent Cagewarriors Welterweight Grand Prix in the UK, Jeff Cox (12-3)

returns home to face one of his toughest opponents to date in Chris Myers (16-7) of Team Impact. Cox, who

started his pro career with ten straight wins will be looking to re-establish himself as one of the division's

best Welterweights if he can take out the experienced Myers, who is returning to the ring for the first time in

over a year. Myers last appearance in the cage was against UFC veteran Tony Fryklund in September of

2004.

In Lightweight action, Cleveland’s JasonDynamiteDent will look to improve on his 17-6 professional

record when he collides with "The Apostle" Luke Spencer (10-6). Dent has won 4 of his last 5 fights and is

currently at the top of his game, however Spencer, who has been in the cage with some of the sport's

premier Lightweights, will surely look to make some noise in the division with a win over Dent. The winner of

this bout will be guaranteed a title shot this October at "Caged Vengeance 2."

Pittsburgh, PA’s JasonSteeltownTaylor looks to add himself to the Lightweight title mix as he faces

Dent’s teammate Donnie Walker (5-2) in another of the card's featured bouts. After an accomplished

amateur career, Taylor is unbeaten in three professional bouts having finished all three opponents in the

opening round. Walker is a well-rounded fighter with both Muaythai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in his arsenal

which should make for one of the night's most explosive match-ups.

Team Gurgel’s Kellyn Huehn (2-1) will square off with Mystee Blackwood (7-4) of Huang's MMA in

Arizona. In what will mark the first ever professional ladies' MMA match to ever be held in Cleveland, these

two women are quickly moving up the MMA ranks and both have their sights set on a future shot at being

the first female MMA champion in Gladiators history.

Vander Fighting Systems JasonFreebirdFreeman has rampaged opponents on his way to a 4-0 MMA

record. The former Toughman champion will be facing his toughest opponent to date in Todd Seyler (15-7)

of Youngstown, OH. Seyler is another well-rounded fighter who has fought across the country and will be

looking to put a dent in Freeman’s unbeaten record.

The “Tyrant Torrance Taylor (2-1) makes his return to Cleveland as he squares off with former pro boxing

champion John Bailey who is making his MMA debut. Bailey has been in the squared circle with the likes

of Ricky Hatton, Juan Diaz and Angel Manfredy and should match up well with Taylor, who has primarily

a kickboxing background. Taylor at only eighteen years old, is considered by many as a potential force in

the Lightweight division, but will have his hands full with the heavy handed Bailey.

Team Strong Style’s John Soeder (2-0) will look to keep his win streak going when he takes on Thomas

Russell (3-2) of the Peak Submission Fight Team. Soeder is coming off a hard fought win at "Caged

Vengeance 1" when he took a split decision over Chris Larkin. "King of the Cage" veteran Russell is a

dangerous striker whose ground game is improving with each fight. The winner of this match-up will likely

move into the top 5 of the Gladiators Middleweight division.

The preliminary bouts will feature several up and coming amateurs looking to make a name in the sport. The

Northeastern Pummeling Dens Josh McBride (2-1) has been impressive in his previous two bouts winning

both via submission. Coached by UFC veteran Todd Butler, McBride will be looking to show the MMA world

that he has arrived when he shoots for his third straight win on June 10th.

Also slated to fight is Team Infinity’s JasonThe Wrecking BallJones (5-2) of Newell, West Virginia.

Jones is another highly touted amateur that has his sights set on a pro debut in the very near future. With a

flashy and brash fighting style, Jones is quickly becoming a fan favorite and hopes to make his mark in

Cleveland. Akron’s “Smokin'” Joe Heiland (1-0) will return to the cage after a hand injury kept him off of

February’s "Caged Vengeance 1" card and will look to build off his debut victory in December 2005.

Also returning to Cleveland as the evening's master of ceremonies will be none other then 4-time world

Kickboxing champion and the voice of K-1 on ESPN, Duke Roufus. “I am very excited to be returning to

Cleveland. The last two shows were a lot of fun and featured more than a few amazing fights. The MMA fans

in Cleveland are unbelievable and I am really looking forward to be going back,” said Roufus.
