Gladiator Challenge Newsletter "Most Wanted" and "First Strike" Are Big Successes

- In the first bout of the evening, Francisco Loredo defeated Chris Tangonan via split-decision
- Mike McDonald took out Carlos Garces with a TKO due to strikes at 2:01 of the 1st round
- In a female bout, Michlle Ould earned the TKO victory over Jessica Rakoczy at1:30 of the 2nd round
- Another hotly-contested bout was next, with Leopoldo Serao edging Phill Collins for the split-decision win
- The 1st submission of the night went to Ulysses Gomez, who choked out Martin Sandoval with a rear- naked choke at 0:36 of round 2
- Long-time WEC veteran and Tachi Palace favorite Poppies Martinez displayed his submission skills, ensnaring Sergio Salcido in a guillotine choke at 3:21 of the 2nd round
- Bellator Fighting Championships Featherweight Champion Joe Soto slapped on a flashy gogoplata submission for the at 2:06 of the 1st round
- UFC veteran War Machine, known for his outspokenness, couldn’t topple undefeated local fighter David Mitchell, losing by split-decision
- Rising prospect Chad Mendes, a training partner of Urijah Faber, simply overwhelmed Mike Joy, garnering the unanimous decision victory
Also, this past Saturday, October 10th, Gladiator Challenge presented “First Strike,” live from the Red Hawk Casino in Shingle Springs, CA. Here are the full results:
- Victor Villareal took out Tommy Taylor with a tapout due to a triangle at 1:52 of the 1st round
- Max Griffin conquered Kino Vuittonet at 0:25 of the 1st round by TKO due to strikes
- Ivan Pack almost equaled the ending of the previous fight, TKOing David Hagon with strikes at 0:42 of the 1st round
- Brad McDonald trapped Alex Gonzales in a triangle, getting the tapout at 1:18 of the 3rd round
- Ivan Gatoli quickly finished Harold Egan at 0:31 of the 1st round by TKO due to strikes
- Gary Efhan and Lamont Norman battled in a close fight, with Efhan winning by split-decision
- Sean Shakour won another close fight, taking the split-decision victory over Eric Ferreta
- Marty Haelly got the rear-naked choke submission victory over Drew Hawley at 0:22 of the 3rd round
- Another fight, another triangle victory: David Marshall tapped out Ryan Kelly at 0:54 of the 1st round
- Mark Mathews knocked out Charlie Zamora at 0:22 of the 1st round
- In a battle of massive men, Dan Quinn crushed Bond Lapua at 1:49 of the 1st round with a TKO
- Ruben “Warpath” Villarreal beat late replacement Austin Acorn at 0:58 of the 1st round by tapout due to strikes/ref stoppage
- In the main event, two-time world champion James Fanshier submitted Larry Wasson with a guillotine at 1:38 of the 1st round
