Strikeforce Vet Eric Lawson To Compete At "Warpath" This Saturday

May 21, 2011

Shingle Springs Rancheria

Placerville, California

Gladiator Challenge has always prided itself on being one of the best regional fight promotions in the world,

and as a place where fighters hone their craft before heading to Strikeforce or the UFC. A walking example

of this process will return to the GC cage when Eric Lawson competes at “Warpath” this Saturday.

A six-time veteran of GC, Lawson last competed for the promotion in March of 2008. In November of 2007,

he got the call to a bigger show, as he fought at “Strikeforce: Four Men Enter, One Man Survives,” tapping

out fellow GC veteran Josh Neal via rear-naked choke at the event. He then split a couple more bouts in GC,

running his record to 4-2 in the GC cage. Since then, he’s fought five times in Strikeforce, and possesses a

5-2 tally. Lawson’s hit a rough patch recently, losing two straight bouts.

In returning to Gladiator Challenge, the talented middleweight will face extremely t ough vet Larry Mays in an

attempt to right the ship. The GC faithful are sure to welcome back Lawson with open arms.

Don’t miss “Warpath” this Saturday at the Shingle Springs Rancheria! Doors for the event will open at 11 AM,

with the first fight kicking off at 1 PM. Tickets are available through the Virtual Box Office at
