A storm bearing down on Casino Pauma on a Wednesday night didn’t deter fighters or fans from filling the

outdoor arena then partying late into the night at the modern Vegas-style casino as Gabe Ruediger, William

Sriyapai, Robbie Peralta, and Paulo Gazze Jr. gave the MMA fans plenty to cheer about!

Former UFC, WEC, KOTC, and PF fighter Gabe Ruediger at 12-5, after more than a year out of the cage,

chose Gladiator Challenge to make his comeback in and he didn’t disappoint. Charging across the cage at

the opening bell he threw opponent Max Son to the mat, softened him up with a few blows, and then locked

in the winning rear naked choke at just 24 seconds of the first round.

Anthony McDavitt pounded out a tough decision over a game Nick Reale as the two battled evenly on the

feet but McDavitt was able to land harder blows on the ground and catch the judges’ eyes.

William Sriyapai faced off against a very unorthodox William Koogle and circled out of range of his wild

rushes before finally putting him down with a flurry and then finishing him with ground strikes for the round

one, 1:13, TKO win.

Kenny McCorkell took down Robert Kerns early, nearly locked in an arm-bar, but then settled it once and for

all with a ground-and-pound TKO flurry at 2:27 of round one.

In the best fight of the night, Robbie Peralta faced Darrell Montague for the Gladiator Challenge 125 lb.

world title. Both men fought like there was no tomorrow as Montague set the early pace by taking down

Peralta and controlling him on the ground. In the second, though, Peralta did a better job of fighting off

Montague’s shoots but still ended up spending a lot of time on his back. Entering the third, it seemed that

the fight was Montague’s to lose, and that is just what he did. Appearing to gas, he allowed Peralta to turn

the tables and get top position on him where he landed some very hard blows, forcing the referee to stop the

match at 2:45 when he didn’t defend himself, giving Robbie Peralta the 125 lb. title belt.

Jeremy Ramage came out like a house on fire looking to slap on an early arm-bar or triangle and send Chino

Nicolas home early from school. Instead, it was Ramage who got the hall pass as he tired near the end of

the round, let Nicolas get to his back, and then lock in a rear naked choke for the 4:06, round one, win.

Dan Hansow, Chris Sullivan, Joey Beltran, Mike Arellano and Nick Garcia all posted wins while Carlos

Garces and Donkarlo Chinchilla fought to a draw.

Of special mention was the appearance of noted Gracie jiu-jitsu black belt Paulo Gazze Jr. Showing that he

might be ready to focus on MMA and make some major waves (as in tsunami) in the 205 lb. division, Gazze

methodically took down opponent Dwayne Ortiz, got to his back, and then locked in a rear naked choke for

the round one, 3:00 win.

The world is already getting out about Tedd Williams’ Gladiator Challenge at Casino Pauma in the MMA

community and it is attracting big crowds even on a week night and name fighters such as Gabe Ruediger,

William Sriyapai, and Paulo Gazze Jr. Of course, part of the attraction of the event is that you get to go the

beautiful Casino Pauma afterwards for food, fun, and drinks! Whether you’re going there for the fights or

going there for the great fun, just go! Gladiator Challenge and Casino Pauma seemed destined to make

some beautiful music together for years to come!
