Koral Team in California

for Worldwide Gi Party

There are a few hours for the beginning of the 2007 World Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Long Beach, California,

and the expectation over the Brazilian athletes is huge.

For the first time the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship is going to happen abroad, on the imposing California

State University Gym and it has already passed over 1800 enrolled athletes.

The Koral Team is represented by the biggest jiu-jitsu stars like Robert Drysdale, Lucas Leite, Roberto

Cyborg, RobertoTozi, Mário Reis e Cotonete.

We talked to the Grapplers Quest and Pan-American Champion Lucas Leite about the training and

expectation for the fights:

Koral: What´s the expectation about the World Jiu-Jitsu

Championship and how did you prepared for this

competition?

Lucas Leite: “I intend to do my best, I´m working on it, to

win the title. I´m being prepared by my master

Leozinho and we´re in USA for seventeen days to get

adapted to the weather and the timetable.”

Koral: For the first time the World Championship is going

to happen abroad. What do you think about that?

Lucas Leite: The fact of the Championship be in USA for

the first time give us more midia evidence but the

negative side is that good local athletes can´t afford for

their costs without sponsor.

Koral: Who is the biggest name of the jiu-jitsu that´s is

going to be on Long Beach and why?

Lucas Leite: “The Brasa Team is very united and I bet my cards on Robert Drysdale, Absolute class. His is

such a monster on the academy. I think he´s going to win.”
