Hello Fight Fans,
Street Warrior DVD on sale now! Firstly congrats to all the winners of the last Action Extreme DVD competition where we gave away 10 copies of Bodyguard new beginning. We will be running the third AE competition with Underground Movie in a few weeks time. But this week FAN is all about Street Warrior.
Street Warrior: “Let’s See Some Blood!” That’s the clarion call to fight from illegal fight promoter Mr Pope in the underground action movie ‘Street Warrior’ and yes plenty of blood is spilt in this very entertaining and fast-paced movie. The rise of MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) as a global phenomenon has seen the gladiators that enter the octagon become media celebrities to rival professional wrestlers and movie stars so it was only a matter of time before we saw movies about MMA featuring MMA stars start to hit our screens. This new wave of fight movie is very much as throwback to the style and storylines of the vintage action films of the 80’s that used to star Jean Claude Van Damme or Don Wilson, except this time around they utilise the vast array of modern mixed martial arts techniques to create a gritty, real-wo! rld fight scenario. Combat32 Series III this weekend! This prestigious freestyle system has its next event on 12th Septmeber in Manchester at the George Carnell Centre and will intially see two teams The South Siders and North Stars do battle with the final rounds turning into a knock out to find the overall winner. Seni2010 We have had a fantastic response and reaction after announcing the dates for Seni2010. Seni is the orginal and the best martial arts expo worldwide and after running for ten years from 1999 to 2008, the show is now organised every other year, 2008-2010-2012, so get your tickets now for this not to be missed industry event. Fighters Inc salute Chris Mundle FAN rounds off this week to pay our deepest sympathies to the family of former international Karate competitor Chris Mundle who sadly passed away in his prime last week. Fighters Incs Paul Alderson & Joe Long are honoured to have have known, competed alongside and had Chris as a friend. The karate world and
fitness industry will miss
him.
