The first Annual De La Riva Jiu-Jitsu Cup was overall very successful. We had over 200 competitors coming

from further distances than ever before, both regionally and internationally. I would like to thank all the

participants, friends and families for making the journey to this tournament. I hope everyone had a safe

return. I also want to thank Mike Tinajero who stepped in as additional referee and all the other volunteers

from different teams who helped at the event.

This tournament was our first to have an open division with cash prizes. In the No Gi Open division we had

two very skilled competitors that did not complete their fight due to a conflict in the rules.

We would like to invite these two competitors to finish their fight in an MMA setting. We will give further

information as this develops.
