Clash of the Titans Results

ACA (Absolute Combat Alliance) vs. Hammer House

June 30, 2006

Renaissance Hotel

(71st St & Hwy 169)

Tulsa, Oklahoma

- Special Thanks go out to Anthony J. Sullivan for the following recap\results:

Over 2000 people were in attendance for N-D-N Promotions Clash of the Titans - A very polished and well

run event. With two large TV screens plus evenly matched fights (very competitive), the night was definitely

a huge success. Special Guests in attendance included Mark Coleman, Phil Baroni, Brandon Lee

Hinkle, and Wes Sims - They were brought into the cage and introduced to the crowd with Coleman getting

the mic and thanking the crowd. In a classic Baroni move, when he was introduced, Phil flipped off the crowd

to the delight of the fans. Also, two changes were made to the card as the Ken Jackson vs. Jack Hodge

bout was cancelled before the show and the 205 lb. bout between Ryan "Yoda" McClain and Allan

Maguire bout was scrapped as Maguire was injured before the bout - announced as a hand injury. The next

N-D-N (get it, Indian) Promotions show called "Brawl For It All" is scheduled for August 12th in Tulsa with a

145 lb., and 185 lb., tournament for the vacant FCF title in both weight divisions.

All Bouts were three rounds (three minutes each round) unless noted.

Fight 1 - 185 lb. Bout

Joe Bunch wins by second round knockout over Jack Mounce.

Bunch improved his record to 3-0 with the knockout over the now 1-1 Mounce. Both men weighed in at the

185 lb. limit and announced as being freestyle fighters. They both came out very aggressive before Bunch

got a guillotine early and held it for the entire first round without getting it completely sunk in. The second

round started the same until Bunch ate some huge shots, then the tide turned when Mounce got caught with

a humongous shot. Mounce then staggered around and Bunch gave him a few more devastating blows.

Mounce fell to the ground, Bunch backed off and the referee stepped in for the ending.

Fight 2 - 175 lb. Bout

Mike Jackson wins by second round submission (arm bar) over Josh Bain

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighter Jackson (170 lbs) looked very impressive upping his record to 1-1 after beating

wrestler Josh Bain (174 lbs) who drops to 0-1 with a second round arm bar. Bain couldn't take Jackson down

and was his hit with some nice knees and punches. The wrestler eventually used his skills taking Jackson

down to the ground but Jackson reversed it. The second round saw Jackson take Bain down with a guillotine

from the bottom. Bain broke the hold and got in some good ground & pound. Then in a display of skills,

Jackson sunk in the arm bar from his back. A very good fight.

Fight 3 - 205 lb. Bout

Jeremiah Kaves wins by first round knockout over Jalon Crowley

Kaves (1-0) wins with the first round knockout in something like 30 seconds over the now 0-1 Crowley.

Kaves came out and landed a huge right hand in the opening seconds and Crowley went down. Kaves then

followed it up with knees and punches until the KO. It appeared to me that Kaves didn't miss a single blow

that he threw. A very quick & brutal bout. Kaves is a very intense guy.

Fight 4 - 145 lb. Bout

Shane Waits wins by first round submission (rear naked choke) over Brook Medrano

Waits (138 lbs) upped his record to 4-1 with the first round submission (under one minute) over the now 0-1

Medrano (145 lbs). Brook took control early by slamming Shane to the ground. Shane then reversed it and

secured the choke for the win.

Fight 5 - 205 lb. Bout

Jimmy Johnson wins by first round submission (guillotine choke) over Elton Benton

Johnson (204 lbs) of Trition Close Combat took his record to 3-1 with the first round standing guillotine over

the 202 lb. Benton who is now 0-1. It started with Johnson shooting in and having control - They stood up -

Johnson landed a huge punch fazing Benton - Johnson then took the opportunity to sink in the choke for the

win. Benton was still dazed after the bout from that one big punch.

Fight 6 - Heavyweight Bout

Rudy Lindsey wins by first round TKO (strikes) over Adam Burkham

"Rowdy" Rudy Lindsey (240 lbs) of Team Croc Pit went to 4-2 by beating the 237 lb. freestyle fighter

Burkham who is now 0-1. From an observational standpoint, it looked like both men need to work on their

cardio 'cause it appeared that neither could have made it into the second round. Lindsey took him down after

a sloppy standing exchange. On the ground, Lindsey started landing hammer fists until the end which looked

odd - It looked odd as Lindsey just stopped landing blows, stood up and the referee waved it off.

Fight 7 - 170 lb. Bout

Wayne Bridgeman wins a three round unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) over Devin Surls

The 169 lb. Bridgeman of Triton Close Combat improved his record to 2-0 by scoring a unanimous decision

win over the 167 lb. Surls who is now 1-1. Wayne took control, got him down and started the ground &

pound. At one point, Wayne went for a leaping punch while Devin was on the ground to the cheers of the

fans. The second round was more ground & pound by Wayne. The third round started with a low blow from a

kick by Wayne causing boos from the crowd - After the pause in action, it was more of the same ground &

pound by Wayne. The referee stood them up and they went to the ground with the same action until the end.

ACA vs. Hammer House Series

Fight 8 - 145 lb. Bout

Daniel Sullivan wins by third round submission (choke) over Derek Collins

Sullivan (ACA) of Mikeys Gym (Mikey Burnett) went to 3-1 with the third round choke out over Collins (HH)

who is now 4-5. Sullivan (no relation) charged taking him down and started the ground & pound. Collins sunk

in a triangle and almost won. Sullivan even stood up but the triangle was in tight - eventually Sullivan was

able to get out. At one point, in a weird move, the referee moved the action to the middle like they were in

PRIDE and were under the ropes. I saw no reason for the move which is why it was so odd. The second

round started with Sullivan dropping his foe. After some ground action, the referee stood them up. The third

round started weird as Sullivan was pointing to something on the mat but the referee did nothing about it.

After some ground work, Sullivan tapped him with what was announced as a choke. Sorry folks, I couldn't

see what it was because the referee was standing in the way - blocking the camera shot on the giant screen.

Fight 9 - 185 lb. Bout

Prince McLean wins by second round TKO over Tom Jones

McLean (HH) stayed undefeated at 3-0 by beating Mikeys Gym fighter Tom Jones (ACA) who is now 9-4.

The story of this fight was Jones trying to wrestle with Prince having the superior stand-up landing many

blows. The ending had some controversy as Prince had Jones very hurt and the referee stepped in but after

the stoppage, Jones stood up and acted like he wasn't hurt. I thought it was a good stoppage as Jones was

eating punches and knees.

Fight 10 - Main Event: FCF (Freestyle Cagefighting) Heavyweight Title - vacant (5 min. Rds)

David Heath wins by second round TKO (injury) over Rob Wince

Heath (ACA) - 205 lb. of Mikeys Gym improved to 6-0 and won the title with a 2nd round TKO due to injury

over the now 14-7 Rob "Bullrider" Wince (HH) - 204 lbs.. This was weird as the entire fight was Heath landing

some good shots but taken down early in each round with Wince doing the ground & pound game. The end

came after the second round when Wince quit a fight he was winning claiming an injury. Again, from an

observational standpoint, it didn't look like Wince was injured in my and the crowds opinion but rather he

was totally gassed by doing all the work - dominating his opponent. He couldn't even stand up and was just

absolutely spent. It was interesting to see Heath celebrate like he had done a good job but the only thing he

really did was survive. Wince needs to work on his cardio if he wants to go further in MMA. Coleman

afterwards got on the microphone and showed his displeasure with the crowd who were booing the hell out

his fighter.
