Special Thanks go out to Ian Dean and Cagewarriors.com for the following article:

The Cagewarriors Fighting Championships Prepare To Unleash "Ultimate Force" At The Xscape Centre In

Castleford, England this April 30th.

Cagewarriors: Ultimate Force is the name for the new Cagewarriors brand run by respected Northern

promoter Paul Murphy and his business partner Dave Mangham. They plan to debut their new franchised

show on Saturday, the 30th of April at the Xscape Centre in Castleford, England.

The Xscape Centre is an amazing indoor entertainment complex, which contains bars, cafés and restaurants

as well as a wide range of fun activities such as bowling, indoor skiing, interactive gaming, cinemas and

more. For more information on this venue go to http://www.xscape.co.uk/castleford/news/?r=1.

The Cagewarriors Ultimate Force team aims to deliver the same high standard of action which has made the

CWFC one of the UK’s top events, whilst also implementing a few new twists of their own and still managing

to attract new sponsors and support. Seven exciting bouts have already been confirmed for this show with

more to come in the coming weeks. The following is a brief synopsis of some of the bigger fights already

confirmed for “Ultimate Force” but to see the in-depth fight preview go to the “Ultimate Force” news page at

http://www.cagewarriors.com/page.asp?ID=766.

Highlights of this card include the participation of  top Lightweight contender DaveThe big bad wolf

Roche (3-0-0). Roche is the definition of the modern crossed trained athlete and will be looking to add to his

impressive first round submission wins at Cagewarriors 7 and at Cagefighting Championships 3 against a yet

to be determined opponent.

Also confirmed for “Ultimate Force” is a Welterweight clash between Mohamed 'Sako' Kacha (5-1-0) of the

French Top Team and Matt12 GaugeThorpe (4-3-0) from the CWFC Pro fight team, the Northern Cartel.

Kacha is already the UKMMAC Welterweight World Champion and is a powerful KO puncher who holds

impressive first round wins over the likes of PaulHands of StoneJenkins, Alex De Souza and a TKO

win over the current Cagewarriors Welterweight champion Abdul Mohamed.

Matt Thorpe is a tall, rangy and versatile athlete whose previous MMA victories have all come by submission.

But Thorpe has worked extensively on his game and even entered the UK-1 kickboxing circuit where he

dominated an experienced Muay Thai veteran en route to a KO victory. Thorpe will be hoping for a repeat

performance when he meets the explosive young Frenchman inside the CWFC 32ft Octagon on April 30th in

Castleford.

Also confirmed is an intriguing contest between two submission specialists as the unbeaten Alex Owen

(6-0-0) from Team Savage takes on the experienced ZST and Shootboxing Japan veteran Danny Batten

(5-5-2). Owen, who was the 2002 and 2003 Combat Sports Lightweight Champion, has been tearing into the

Featherweight division since his pro debut at Cagewarriors 6 last March. And in October Owen earned many

plaudits when he submitted Craig Fallon (British Olympic Judo team member) in 90 seconds and then went

on to end the unbeaten streak of Frederic Fernandez (brother of the CWFC champion Emmanuel

Fernandez) at Cagewarriors 9 Xtreme Xmas in December.

Hs opponent Danny Batten has been on a sabbatical since his loss to the Cage Rage World Lightweight

Champion Jean Silva at Cage Rage 3 (Nearly 2 years ago) in London. In his long career, Batten has faced

some of the best domestic fighters in the Lightweight division, and will be looking to show why he was seen

as one of Britain’s top pound for pound fighters a few years ago, when he drops down a weight division and

takes on the brash South West star at “Ultimate Force.” And with a possible title shot on the line for the

winner, this is a fight neither man will want to lose.

Cagewarriors are also pleased to announce a double surprise as Cagewarriors “Ultimate Force” will not only

see the first “Hybird San Shou” bout in the UK, but will also see the return of the UK veteran Andy Cooper

from retirement, when he faces the JKD stylist Ray Burns. San Shou’s mix of flashy throws and strikes has

been a huge success during K-1 shows in the USA, and the “Ultimate Force” team hopes that it will emulate

the success that “Cage Kickboxing” has enjoyed since its inception. Will this be an interesting clash of

styles or one experiment too many? On the 30th of April, we will find out.
