Cagewarriors Strike Force 4 "Night Of Champions" Antonio Silva Junior, Jeff "The Snowman" Monson and Michael "The Count" Bisping Highlight The Cagewarriors 'Night Of Champions' Card In Coventry, England
November 26, 2005 Skydome Arena Coventry, England
The Cagewarriors Fighting Championships and Warriors Promotions return to Coventry with a superb end-of- year finale, as all 9 company titles are on the line in a unique 'Night of Champions' on November 26th.
Coventry, England -- Cagewarriors unleash their biggest show to-date on November 26th, when they present “Strike Force 4 - Night of Champions” at the Skydome Arena, Coventry. In keeping with previous Strike Force shows, this event will have a theme to it and will see all 9 CWFC Titles up-for-grabs in a ground breaking night for UK MMA.
The final card for this event has now been confirmed and is headed by the 135kg/298lbs British based Brazilian, Antonio “Pezão” De Silva Junior. Silva, from the Cagewarriors pro fight team the Wolfslair Academy, will take on the five time KOTC vet Ruben "Warpath" Villarreal for the Vacant CWFC Super- Heavyweight Title.
Antonio “Pezão” De Silva Junior
Antonio Silva Junior (3-0-0) made his cage fighting debut at Cagewarriors Strike Force 1 on May 21st, and has quickly become one of the most talked about fighters in the UK MMA scene. His BJJ training combined with his brutal ground and pound and striking skills have seen him bully his three previous opponents into submission. Silva even captured the Cage Rage World Heavyweight Title when he made short work of the UFC veteran Rafal "Earthquake" Carino in his third MMA fight back in July.

However, Silva faces a tougher test this time round against Ruben "Warpath" Villarreal, who not only has eight TKO wins on his record, but is also known for being an aggressive attribute based powerhouse. This experienced MMA warrior has fought numerous UFC veterans such as Andre “The Chief” Roberts, Bobby Hoffman, Dan Severn, Travis Wiuff and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Ricco Rodriguez. Villarreal has also given up the chance to enjoy Thanksgiving and has instead decided to fly out to England for this bout, and come home as Champion.
Also featured on the card is the three time UFC veteran Jeff "The Snowman" Monson, as he defends his CWFC Heavyweight Title against the Frenchman Emmanuel Marc. Monson won the CWFC by ending the 11 fight win streak of the former Greco-Roman World Champion Tengiz Tedoradze last December. Monson will be looking to repeat that sublime performance when he makes his second defense of his CWFC title against Emmanuel Marc. The Frenchman stunned the Skydome faithful back in May, when he knocked out local hero Barrington Patterson in the main event of Strike Force 1 in front of nearly 300 screaming fans.
There are also several top domestic clashes at Strike Force 4, which sees the undefeated British sensation Michael "The Count" Bisping (9-0) defending his light-Heavyweight Title against the UKMMAC Heavyweight Champion Ross "The Gladiator" Pointon.
Michael Bisping
Bisping is coming off a tremendous first round win over the highly regarded Jakob “Striking Viking” Lovstad, and will be looking to impress foreign talent scouts with another emphatic win in Coventry. However, Pointon has impressed in training due to a brand new training camp and will look to end a disappointing 2005 on a high with a win over “The Count.”
The other all-British title encounter promises to be an explosive affair as Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy from the Rough House Gym in Nottingham, battles the rangy 6ft 4in, KOTC UK veteran Matt “12 Gauge” Thorpe for the Vacant CWFC Welterweight Title. Both men are accomplished strikers whose fans have been engaging in an internet war of words since this bout was announced. Hardy’ popularity has skyrocketed this year due to his numerous high-profile bouts against top European contenders and should have the edge in form and in experience. However Thorpe has a huge height advantage over Hardy and possesses an impressive grappling and striking game too, which could nullify the unorthodox but effective striking skills of Hardy.
Also featuring in this extraordinary event are Martin "Hitman" Kampmann (Denmark), Damien Riccio (France), the EVT GP winner Thomas Hytten (Team Frontline, Norway), the CWFC Featherweight Champion Danny Batten and the Brazilians Augusto Frota and CWFC Lightweight Champion Alexandre “Xandinho” Izidro.
The winners of the “Night of Champions” will walk away with the newly designed CWFC Title, which has been designed by the esteemed trophymaker Thomas Fattorini Ltd. (They are famous for designing the coveted Lonsdale belt, which is the British Boxing Title belt) This will no doubt increase the tension at the superb Skydome Arena on November 26th, when these modern day warriors battle it out inside the 32ft CWFC Octagon in pursuit of gold and glory.
