Cage Wars Championship Demolition Time May 22, 2010 National Exhibition Centre (NEC) Birmingham, England
Cage Wars Championship - CWC - will be staging their next live event “DEMOLITION” at the NEC in Birmingham England on May 22nd 2010. As part of the UK’s new Martial Arts Expo “The Martial Arts Show” (now known as “TMAS”) Cage Wars will go live at the expo event on Saturday night in what will be their biggest event to date.
“It’s been almost ten years since we staged an event in England and we can promise that this will be our most spectacular production yet” said head of production Patrick Mooney. “We were delighted to be asked by the TMAS organization to headline their Martial Arts expo weekend with our MMA event. This gives us the perfect platform to re-introduce the Cage Wars Championship brand and concept to the UK MMA fans and we are excited to do so”.
The TMAS weekend runs over two days May 22nd/23rd and a massive 35,000 martial arts fans from across the world are expected to descend upon the NEC which will host a weekend of demos, seminars and dozens of Martial Arts competitions.
By giving MMA such a prominent position at the show, TMAS and Cage Wars Championship hope to grow the MMA fan base in the UK by standing along side the traditional styles of Martial Arts, creating further awareness of the massive cross over potential for the traditional styles to experiment with MMA.
“We as a sport have to reach out to the traditional styles of Martial Arts and show them that without their style input MMA would not exist as we know it today. We look forward to showing the positive side of MMA and help develop the sport to an even greater level in the coming years”
The fight card for the event will be announced over the coming weeks on the official CWC-Demolition website and the official Cage wars website at www.cagewars.co.uk and at the TMAS website at

ABOUT CAGE WARS Cage Wars Championship - CWC is the brain child of Patrick Mooney and Chris Kelly from Ireland. Both men have been involved in promoting nearly 50 MMA events at all levels and are the fathers of the Cage Fighting scene in the UK. Cage Wars Championship has now become the number one cage MMA event in Europe.
Cage Wars is a Mixed Martial Arts promotion that began in 1999 to promote and teach the sport of MMA. During that time the CWC team brought the first ever cage event to the UK in 2001 which has lead to the explosion of MMA promotions in the UK. MMA is now the fastest growing sport on the planet today.
The first event took place in the Guildhall in Portsmouth, England and was soon followed by the first ever London event which was a sell out. Ireland, Scotland and Belfast followed over the years and last year three events were held at the world famous Kings Hall, which once again were a phenomenal success.
Cage Wars is the largest and longest running UK MMA events company and has hosted or introduced many of the biggest MMA stars including Seth Petruzelli, Shonie Carter, Jess Liaudin, Brian Gassaway, John Lober, Dan Severn, Joachim Hansen, Rich Clementi and Jeff Monson to name but a few.
Cage Wars Championship events are currently broadcast to over half a billion homes in the USA, Canada, UK and Asia with more TV stations being added every month.
