Cage Contender To Feature Three Title Bouts July 24 in Dublin

On Saturday July 24 Irish-based promotion Cage Contender, one of the fastest growing organizations in all of

mixed martial arts, returns with their fifth show in less than a year. This time around there will be three titles

on the line when six of the finest fighters in Europe head to the National Basketball Arena in Dublin, Ireland.

The three championship bouts head a stellar event that includes eleven professional match-ups.

In what is the biggest bantamweight fight ever in European MMA history, Ireland native Paul "Metabolic"

McVeigh takes on Artemij Sitenkov. European number one McVeigh (16-6) is considered to be one of the top

talents in all MMA. However Bushido challange European champion Sitenkov (11-5) has not-so-subtly been

knocking at McVeigh's door.

While McVeigh, a brown belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, is a perennial fixture atop the bantamweight rankings, his

fearsome ground assault could be tested early by his opponent. Sitenkov has gained a reputation for the

dramatic, ending bouts with exotic submissions that seemingly come from nowhere?as seen with his flying

armbar submission in April over McVeigh?s Dinky Ninjas teammate James Doolan. The two distinct styles

should certainly make for an exciting fight and one that MMA fans will be discussing feverishly leading up to

the July 24 bout.

Tickets for Cage Contender V are available at Ticketmaster and all Grafton Barber outlets. Tickets start at

just 30.00 for general seating to 45.00 for cageside seating. Doors at the National Basketball Arena will open

at 18:00 with the first fights scheduled to begin at 19:00. The event will be filmed for broadcast by Setanta

Sports Ireland.

Also on the card, is Dublin native Cathal "The Punisher" Pendred (3-1) who is poised to fight for his first title.

He will bring his power and technique into the cage against former light heavyweight knockout artist Liam

Shannon (3-1). The two will battle for the vacant Cage Contender welterweight title.

Martin "The Heat" Begley will be putting his Cage Contender lightweight championship title on the line when

he meets "Magic" Myles Price. Begley (10-14) won the title this past November when he won twice in one

night to take the vacant tile belt. Price (8-2) will be looking to continue his ascendancy toward stardom if he

can claim a victory on July 24.

John Ferguson, owner of Cage Contender, has stayed true to his commitment to continually bring the best

fights possible to Irish fans. "The Cage Contender business model is very simple. We give people the fights

they want to see. We put on high octane, value for money shows with no gimmicks. That's why people come

back again and again. This model works for us and that's why the brand has grown so rapidly."

The rapid growth of Cage Contender can be credited to the passion of Ferguson, his team, and the European

fans that support mixed martial arts.

Cage Contender V is not only the culmination of the past year's hard work, but is still just the beginning.

Several more shows are already in planning stages for the organization, proving that Cage Contender plans

to continue their unprecedented growth rate.

In addition to the three title contests, several intriguing bouts highlight the action-packed event. Undefeated

female fighter Aisling "The Bash" Daly (9-0) takes on talented prospect and world Mauy Thai champion Julia

Borisova (6-0). Outstanding lightweight Norman Parke (10-2) will step in against Tom Maguire (7-3). To view
