Miami, FL - All Star Boxing, Inc. "The New Generation", Felix "Tuto" Zabala, Jr. and Boxeo TELEMUNDO closes the 2004 Season with its 12th show and are joining forces once again to bring two Championship Fights on one night Friday, December 17th at the Miccosukee Resort & Gaming in Miami.
In a rematch fight, Gerson “Nene” Guerrero of Mexico will defend his WBO Latin Super Flyweight Title against Jair “Tigrillo” Jimenez of Colombia. They fought to an exciting 12 round fight last July 16th on Telemundo where in a very competitive fight, Guerrero took a close decision. Jimenez ranked # 6 IBF, # 13 WBC and # 15 WBO is a former WBC Latin Champion and brings a record of 22-3-1-16 KOs. Guerrero is ranked # 6 WBO, # 8 WBC and currently holds the NABF and WBO Latin Titles - he brings a record of 28-5-21 KOs.
Also in action, Carlos Maussa of Miami will be facing Arturo Morua of Mexico in a 12 round fight for the WBO Latin Jr. Welterweight vacant Title. Both boxers are coming off impressive wins - Maussa ranked # 6 WBA, # 10 WBC and former WBC Latin Champion beat then OPBF Champion and contender Masakazu Satake in Japan to improve his record to 17-1-15 KOs. Morua, on the other hand, is a former WBA FEDECENTRO Champion and recently beat contender Omar Weis to improve his record to 19-6-1-13 KOs.
There will be a total of seven bouts with the first one starting at 8:00 PM. The main event will be televised live at 11:30 PM on TELEMUNDO. Tickets are already on sale at the Miccosukee Resort & Gaming Box Office 1-800-741-4600 or at Ticketmaster (305) 358-5885.
