LOS ANGELES - Ah, fall. The leaves are starting to turn color, children are back at school, and thoughts

turn to the upcoming holidays. Yet while most people also associate the season with dropping temperatures,

the heat is only going to get turned up on Friday, September 23, when Golden Boy Promotions kicks off the

fall portion of its ‘Solo Boxeo’ schedule with two high-impact clashes between fighters who refuse to take a

backwards step in the ring.

In the main event at USC’s Lyon Center in Los Angeles, California, former world champion Javier Jauregui

continues on his journey back to the title when he battles Filipino bomber Randy Suico in a ten round

lightweight matchup. And the co-feature is just as hot when aggressive veterans Norberto Bravo and Ben

Tackie square off in a junior welterweight ten rounder.

Both bouts will be televised live on Telefutura’s ‘Solo Boxeo’ beginning at 9pm ET / 6pm PT.

Doors open at 4:30pm and the first bell rings at 5:00pm.

Guadalajara, Mexico’s Javier Jauregui (49-12-2, 34 KOs) has long been appreciated as one of boxing’s blue

collar warriors, a man who always comes to fight and who is willing to take on all comers in the ring. But it

was only after winning the IBF world lightweight title from Leavander Johnson in 2003 was “Chatito” truly

recognized as one of the game’s top 135 pounders. A veteran of over 17 years in the prize ring, Jauregui,

winner of two of his last three bouts, is gearing up for another trip up the 135-pound mountain, beginning on

September 23.

Ironically, when Jauregui was making his professional debut, Mandaue City’s Randy Suico (23-1, 20 KOs)

was just eight years old. But now at 25, the Philippine knockout artist has his own championship dreams,

and he wants to start making them a reality as he tests himself against one of the top lightweights in the

world. A concussive puncher whose only defeat was a highly controversial decision loss to Mzonke Fana in

a bout that saw Fana hit the deck twice, Suico has since rebounded with two stoppage wins as he vows not

to leave matters in the hands of the judges again.

When you look up ‘tough’ in a boxing dictionary, you’re liable to see the name Ben Tackie (26-5, 16 KOs). A

rugged native of Accra, Ghana who is known for his straightforward style and iron chin, ‘Wonder’ has fought a

who’s who of boxing during his 11 year career, including world champions Kostya Tszyu, Ricky Hatton,

Sharmba Mitchell, Goyo Vargas and John-John Molina. In his last bout, on May 27, Tackie stayed busy

with a decision win over Edwin Algarin.

One of the most popular fighters in the Phoenix, Arizona area, Norberto ‘Nito’ Bravo (20-10-2, 12 KOs) will

fight in Southern California for the first time since 1992 on September 23. A hard-nosed competitor who

knows only one direction - forward - Bravo is never in a bad fight, and his bout against Tackie should also live

up to the high standards he always delivers to fight fans.

A top-notch undercard will be announced shortly.

For tickets, affordably priced at $20 for general admission ($10 with student ID) and $40 for ringside, are

available now at the Lyon Center box office or by calling 213-740-4672.
