April 7, 2006

Coliseo Pedrin Zorrilla

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Televised on Telefutura's "Solo Boxeo"

Welterweight Bout (8 Rds)

Jose Miguel Torres (14-1, 12 KOs) wins by TKO at 2:36 of the 8th rd over Jose Medina (12-6, 10 KOs) -

Medina was downed in the first from a right upper cut, left hook combo with 37 seconds left in the round -

One of the most foul-laden bouts we can recall in recent memory: Shoving during the break, hitting during the

break, hitting behind the head, hitting after the bell, elbows, head butts, just about anything you can thing

of...and yes, even low blows - towards the end of the third round, Torres landed a low blow - the ref didn't see

it but you could tell Medina wasn't happy about it - Medina then closed the gap, lowered his head and came

in - Torres and Medina then started trading low blows trying to hit each other in the "jewels" - Medina lost

that battle quickly and went down from a shot but from the replay angle, it looked like the punch from Medina

hit the inside of Torres' left thigh - in any event, Torres took time to recuperate - Towards the end of the fifth

round, Torres had Medina in a one arm guillotine to which Medina responded with a knee to the "jewels" and

Torres went down in pain - Quite frankly, both could have have been disqualified for numerous infractions.

Super Bantamweight Bout (10 Rds)

Juan Manuel Lopez (11-0,10 KOs) wins by TKO at :02 of the 6th rd over Alberto Chuc (18-6-2, 14 KOs) -

bell rang to start the sixth round but the ref immediately called time-out so that a gash on Chuc (on his right

cheek) could be seen by the doctor - doctor stopped the bout.
