Bantamweight Bout (4 Rds)

McJoe Arroyo (1-0, 1 KO) wins by TKO at :25 of the second round over Giovanni Rivera (0-3)

In the first round, Rivera downed with a left (up at the count of six). In the second round, Rivera got caught

with a left hook that sent him bouncing of the ropes to his left, down onto his stomach (face to face with

the canvas) - the ref immediately stopped the bout and Rivera quickly got up protesting.

 

Cruiserweight Bout (6 Rds)

Carlos Negron (8-0, 6 KOs) wins by knockout at 2:59 of the first round over Roy Ashworth (5-8, 1 KO)

In the first round, Ashworth's knees buckled and his gloves touched the canvas from a left hook (given a

standing eight count)....the fight resumed and after some small exchanges, Ashworth went down to a knee

from an accumulation of body punches (up right away).....the fight resumed and with 10 seconds left in the

round, Ashworth got caught with a double left hook that put him on his back....Ashworth tried to get up at the

count of eight but just ended up rolling over as the ref reached the count of 10.

 

Flyweight Bout (4 Rds)

McWilliams Arroyo (1-0, 1 KO) wins by knockout at 1:46 of the first round over Eliecer Sanchez (0-1)

In the first round, Arroyo caught Sanchez with a straight right that put him down and out.

 

WBO Jr. Featherweight Title Bout - vacant (12 Rds)

Wilfredo Vazquez, Jr. (18-0-1, 15 KOs) wins by KO at 2:01, 4th rd over Marvin Sonsona (14-1-1, 12 KOs)

In the fourth round, Sonsona went down from a left to the body and couldn't get up (took the 10 count).

Vazquez wins vacant title.

WBC Youth Lightweight Title Bout (10 Rds)

Daniel Estrada (22-1, 19 KOs) wins by 10th rd TKO over Angel Alirio Rivero (21-8-1, 14 KOs)

In the second round, Estrada downed with a left hook (up right away)......the fight resumed and with less

than a minute left in the round, Estrada had Rivero on crazy legs a few times (looked like he was going to go

down) but Rivero kept fighting back. At the beginning of the sixth round, Rivero penalized a point for a head

butt in the fifth round. In the tenth round, with about 2:06 left to fight, the ref stopped the bout after Rivero

absorbed a right (even though Rivero was fighting back). Estrada retains title.

 

WBC Light Flyweight Title Bout (12 Rds)

Rodel Mayol (26-4-2, 20 KOs) vs. Omar Nino Romero (28-3-2, 11 KOs) ended in a technical draw

In the third round (with about 46 seconds left), Mayol got caught with a low blow (a right to the jewels) -

Mayol dropped his hands, turned a way a bit and was wincing when Romero came in (the ref trying to stop

him) and landed a left hook that put Mayol down and out. The bout was ruled a technical draw and a rematch

was ordered. Mayol retains title.
