ZST GP2 Tournament Update

ZST has added four fighters to the opening round of their Grand Prix (GP) tournament scheduled to take

place on November 3rd (2004). Among the announced competitors for the tournament will be two-time

Greco-Roman wrestling Olympic Gold medalist Armen Nazarian, ZST veterans Hideo Tokoro, Remigijus

Morkevicius, and Masahiro Ohishi, Shooto veteran Shuichiro Katsumura (currently ranked the world # 8

featherweight in Shooto), and kickboxing veteran Boulem Belaini. ZST had planned for Jeff Curran to

participate in the GP but because of an injury (orbital fracture) which will take about five months to

completely heal, he will not be able to take part in the GP. Two fighters are left to be announced along with

the line-up for the brackets. The GP tournament will conclude on January 23rd (2005) with the semi-finals

and final. The lone match-up announced so far will put undefeated Spartan veteran Sam Nest against Shooto

veteran Kestutis Smirnovas.
