UFC 48: Payback

The UFC has announced that former heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia will make his return to the octagon on June 19th at UFC 48: Payback. Sylvia was originally scheduled to participate at UFC 47. Sylvia will be facing Frank Mir for the vacant heavyweight title.
Also added to the card will be Dennis Hallman against Frank Trigg in a rematch (Trigg won the first meeting). UFC veteran Matt Serra will go up against UCC (now TKO) veteran Ivan Menjivar and SuperBrawl veteran Jason Miller (22-4) will make his UFC debut against the TKO Canadian welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre.
Previously announced, the main event for the card will feature "The Worlds Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock against Kimo in a rematch of their UFC 8 (Feb. '96) bout which Shamrock won via knee bar. The co-feature will see former UFC welterweight champion Matt Hughes (36-4) take on undefeated Renato "Charuto" Verissimo (5-0). And "The New York Bad Ass" Phil Baroni (6-3) will be back in action against rival Evan Tanner (9-2) in a re-match of their November 21st (2003) bout at UFC 45 which Tanner won.
