Tyson and K-1

Showtime Championship Boxing

Just a quick note about an article that's on the WBA website written today in Spanish about the ongoing

negotiations between Mike Tyson and K-1. The news is there is no news. The impasse is still there. Tyson's

camp wants to fight boxer Kevin MacBride and K-1 wants Tyson to face one of it's fighters. The article

stated that K-1 denies what Tyson's manager is saying (MacBride, location, etc...) and that they aren't

paying any attention to it. K-1 also stated that the signing of Tyson to K-1 is nothing if he doesn't face a K-1

fighter (under K-1 rules). Furthermore, K-1 can't give any concessions to Tyson's opponent - it must be a K-1

fighter, although there is a small possibility it would be under boxing rules. The July 31st date set for Tyson's

debut will likely be cancelled and postponed to a later date.
