Showtime starts off  Shobox: The Next Generation on January 15th headlined by former WBO Jr.

welterweight and WBA Jr. welterweight champion Randall Bailey. Bailey will be battling the undefeated

"Sugar Shay" Ishe Smith for the vacant USBA and WBC Continental Americas welterweight titles

Baily won his first 21 fights in a row, spanning four years, including winning the WBO Jr. welterweight title

from former champ Carlos Gonzalez via first round knock out back in 1999. Bailey went on to defend the

title twice before losing it to Ener Julio via 12 round split decision in 2000. He then won his next three

bouts which led him to fight for the vacant WBA Jr. welterweight title when Kostya Tszyu was declared a

super champion. He won the title against Demetrio Ceballos by third round TKO in 2002. In his next fight,

Bailey lost his title to the then IBA Jr. welterweight champion Diosbelys Hurtado by seventh round knock

out in May of 2002. Bailey bounced back to win his next bout and get a chance to fight for the WBO jr.

welterweight title once again. In January of 2003, he lost his bid to reclaim his title when he lost a 12 round

unanimous decision to DeMarcus Corley. Bailey has had one fight since then, an eight round unanimous

decision win over Reggie Strickland in May of 2003.

Smith, according to Showtime, has been the lead sparring partner for both Fernando Vargas and "Sugar"

Shane Mosley. Smith started his career in 2000 with a third round TKO win over Jose Santos Meraz. His

last bout was in July of 2003 where he won a 10 round unanimous decision win over David Estrada.
