Showtime was forced once again to change it's line-up for this Saturday's televised fight. Former WBA Jr.

welterweight champion Sharmba Mitchell was originally scheduled to take on undisputed Jr. welterweight

champion Kostya Tszyu on Saturday but Tszyu came down with an injury and was replaced by IBF # 4

ranked Omar Weis who also came down with an injury and will now face IBF # 9 ranked Lovemore N'dou.

Mitchell, ranked # 1 by the IBF, had his last bout in May of 2003 when he defeated Ben Tackie by 12 round

unanimous decision in an IBF title eliminator. Mitchell lost his WBA title to Tszyu back in 2001 by seventh

round TKO. Mitchell injured his left knee and was unable to continue in the eighth. Since his loss to Tszyu,

Mitchell has won five straight (four by decision, one by TKO).

All of N'dou's loses have come via decision and he's on a five fight win streak (since his last defeat) dating

back to November of 2002. In his last bout this past December (2003), he defended his IBF Pan Pacific light

welterweight title with a fifth round knock out of Carlos Alberto Ramón Ríos (52-10-3, 34 KO's).

This bout will be for the interim IBF Jr. welterweight title while Kostya Tszyu recovers from his shoulder

injury. Yeah, we know... but what can you do ?
